Vehicle info

When the weather gets warm, dreams of cruising down the highway in a jaw-dropping classic are inevitable. Linger on that thought a little longer and the sound of a small block V8 comes to mind coupled with images of an old school dash. We'll let you fill in the details from there but, if you like where we were going, have a look at this slick Chevy Nova. Equipped with modern Chevrolet power, a smooth automatic transmission and a thoroughly updated appearance, this coupe has been drawing stares ever since it rolled off the trailer. And if you're ready to feel the summer breeze behind the wheel of a storied Detroit legend, it's a chance to turn your dreams into reality!

Built to be a head-turning showpiece, this sinister coupe features a detailed, custom appearance that's highlighted by a spectacular color combination and bright, mirror-like accents. Take one look down the sides of the car's slick body and it becomes very obvious that great care was taken to ensure all gaps are at better-than-factory standards. Step closer to the car's wet looking finish and check out straight and ripple-free panels that aren't plagued by any rust or major imperfections. Grab the car's well-adjusted hood and feel how smoothly it opens to provide excellent fit which is set off by a glossy clearcoat shine. And it all adds up to one top-notch resto-mod that transforms traditional muscle car style into multi-dimensional swagger!

The subdued and classy lines of the prototypical Nova are early 60s conservative. And because they're so universal in appeal, they've continued to gain significant popularity. At the front of this hardtop, bright halogen headlamps hang a simple stainless grille over a clean bumper and stylish square parking lights. Behind that grille, a peaked hood leads the eye to like-new glass that's framed by straight stainless trim, mirrored wipers and fresh chrome drip rails. At the sides of that glass, a clean, modernist profile centers a familiar bowtie mirror, traditional GM door handles and polished, side-exit exhaust between stylized fenders, a chrome fuel filler and classy Nova emblems. And at the back of the car, vertical, chrome-trimmed tail lights illuminate a second chrome bumper.

This sweet looking Chevy is powered by a show-detailed LT4 that, thanks to B&G Engine Service in Hudson, New York, offers solid, reliable motivation. Built to tear up the street and wow show goers alike, the fully balanced mill, which combines a sturdy iron block and lightweight aluminum heads with a full outfit of Street & Performance chrome, transforms stout 11.5 to 1 compression into razor-sharp throttle response. At the front of the Jet Black block, a modern accessory drive spins a chrome alternator and rebuilt water pump below a big, reusable filter element. Once air enters that filter, it flows through a beefy Holley throttle body to a factory intake that's bolted down over high quality internals. Distilled fossils are provided by GM electronic fuel injection. Sparks are sequenced through MSD 6AL ignition and vivid MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Spent gases swirl through slick, ceramic-coated block huggers. And cooling comes courtesy of a proven aluminum radiator that's fitted with sleeved hoses, two electronic puller fans and a small chrome cap. On the visual end of the spectrum, chrome valve covers and a polished breather perfectly complement glossy rail covers and a subdued Wilwood brake booster. The over-restored engine compartment, which includes Chassisworks inner fenders, has been completely finished to match the car's stunning black exterior. And niceties such as polished looms, Painless wiring and a Holley fuel pressure regulator add the kind of fully-sorted details that'll push enthusiasts right over the edge!

Take a long look under this lightweight X-Body and you'll find a whole roster of small modifications that add up to impressive appearance points and big performance gains. The buff LT4 utilizes a rebuilt GM 4L60E 4-speed and Ford 9-inch rear end to spin a proven Traction-Lok differential and rugged, 31-spline axles around solid, 3.70 gears. Holding that stellar drivetrain off the ground is a completely rebuilt suspension which benefits from a Chris Alston's Chassisworks subframe, adjustable Ridetech ShockWaves, a 4-bar rear section and manual rack and pinion steering. Stops come quickly thanks to a Wilwood 4-wheel disc brake system that features drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners. Spent gases are managed by large, aluminized pipes, which make good use of wicked Flowmaster mufflers. Power pounds the pavement through mirrored Hot Wheels Sixty-Eights, which spin 215/45ZR17 Dunlop SP Sports in front of 235/45ZR17 Dunlop SP Sports. And, like any carefully assembled classic, the bottom of this Nova is as well-finished as its top, with undercoated floors hovering over such niceties as a Moroso oil pan, coated drivetrain components and a fresh Rock Valley fuel tank.

Inside this Chevy, classic style is augmented with seamlessly integrated customization. The car's TMI-branded seats, which feature attractive contrasting stitching, are all-day comfortable and display supple leather covers that fit without any significant wrinkles or creases. At the base of those seats, fade-free carpet frames aftermarket foot pedals and a clean B&M QuickSilver shifter. Above that shifter, a leather-capped dash hangs an array of Auto Meter Pro Comp Ultra Light gauges around a high quality Eclipse CD player and small control panel for the car's Ridetech suspension. At the sides of that dash, factory door skins center billet handles below glossy black frames. In front of the driver, a polished steering wheel spins a color-keyed rim around a tilting Flaming River column. And above the passengers, a suede headliner flows to a custom-upholstered trunk which hides an Optima gel cell battery behind dual Rockford Fosgate Punch speakers.

The sale of this awesome compact includes restoration receipts, component manuals and a vintage Owner's Manual.
