1979 JEEP CHEROKEE CHIEF "S"

This is a serious survivor with all original paint minus a few touch ups here and there. This has had two owners and the last since 1981. She has all the options including working AC and has had the motor rebuilt on or around 1990 or so but got 90% of her miles before that and has had little use in the last ten years but has been kept in fully functioning order. Absolutely turn key and will goto Florida right now or a quick 3000 miles. She has been garaged for most of her life and you won't find too many in this survivor condition that won't need a bunch of attention. She has plenty of beauty marks but this type of rig should have them. A bit of character and it is a jeep so flavor is all it really is.

You will be over joyed with her drving ability and that is a fact. The 360 is original but was rebuilt in 1990 or so along with a new radiator and all she ever needed along the way. She already had about a 135k on the odometer and has had little use in the last ten years but do not let that fool you, she has been kept up and was a loving member of the family from the day they got her at the auction when that Wig got split for good.  WIGWAM SPORTS (done and gone)!! You can very fainlty see there old logo on the tail gate which adds a little more character in my opinion. You can stand outside the drivers door and turn the key. She will fire right up with zero hesitation. Loved from day 1, this is a keeper and this is the type of Classic I just love going to buy. I have had a few of these in my days and this one is tops in the cool factor.

The interior is really clean considering the year and mileage. No rips in the seats and the door panels and carpet are real clean. The dash is nice with ZERO CRACKS in the speaker grill thanks to our crap weather and vacant sun for most of the year. The headliner is almost perfect with a slight seperation at the seam but that can be fixed in 22 minutes with no one the wiser as it is a card board backed version and not just a fabric. The rear compartment looks very clean with only a bit of fade on original carpet. Everything is there and everything says "Original" except the aftermarket "stereo"

The paint is 99.9% original with minor touch ups here and there. The body is straight with only a little rust where the body moldings end at rear of tire but nothing much anywhere else. Floors and under carriage are super solid. The tailgate is very solid too which is saying a lot if you know these bad boys. They do not survive like this too often as they are very prone to rust if used for the intended purposes. She was not used much as an off road vehicle so it has kept up with avoiding such issues. The decals are original and not perfect by any means but are still holding on to life and could be refreshed for a little more pop or left alone allowing nature to do what she always does eventually.

This is a head turner and that is because you see one of these on the road never. She is just a great example that has survived the beating most have taken.

I AM TAKING BEST OFFER BUT PLEASE BE SENSIBLE AS THIS HAS  SHOW QUALITY POTENTIAL WHICH WOULD BE FANTASTIC BUT TERRIBLE AT THE SAME TIME. I HOPE YOU KEEP HER THE WAY SHE IS...SHE CAN TAKE ANOTHER 30 YEARS IN THE GARAGE NO PROBLEM.
