I KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE UNABLE TO DRIVE FOR MANY YEARS BECAUSE OF THE PROHIBITIVE COST OF A VEHICLE LIKE THIS.

I purchased this Caravan new with no miles on it from the Dealership in late 2000 having already made arrangements for it's conversion to allow me to drive it without assistance. In 1985 I was involved in an auto accident and suffered a C3-C7 spinal cord injury, and paralyzed from the chest to my toes and in need of a vehicle specially equipped to allow me to drive again. This van is a flex fuel vehicle and can be run on either regular gas or ethanol, or a mixture of both. It runs equally as nice on either. The conversions alone for these type vehicles is often as much as the vehicle cost alone. For this reason, and the simple fact that this vehicle was an investment in my independence, I have been meticulous, if not fanatical about it's maintenance. Oil changes and lubrications were done religiously every 3,000 miles, often sooner, despite the Owners Manual stating the oil change interval is every 6,000 miles. I use only what I feel is the best oil on the market, Pennzoil. Every Spring, before what I consider my driving season, since I rarely drive during the Winter months, I have the vehicle thoroughly checked and anything that in need of attention is addressed by a licensed mechanic. THIS VEHICLE CAN BE DRIVEN BY ABLE BODIED INDIVIDUALS AS WELL AS THOSE REQUIRING USE OF HAND CONTROLS. NOTHING SPECIAL NEED BE DONE BY EITHER PERSON TO DRIVE IT.

While the engine has what is considered high mileage, it does not smoke, use, or leak any oil. Each time I have the oil changed, I ask to see the dipstick prior to the oil being drained from the crankcase. It is always at the full mark and never grungy. I would not hesitate to drive my van anywhere, and I do. Virtually 99% of the mileage is highway miles. She has never failed to start for me, even during the harshest winter months, and only on one occasion about 3 years ago, did she ever stop on me, and that was simply a plugged fuel filter, which I now change every 12k miles. The vehicle runs and idles as smooth as a new vehicle. When sitting at a light you do not even know it is running. It actually idles and runs much smoother than my 2010 Chrysler Town and Country. Everything works as it should on the vehicle. It never overheats or runs hot, even during the hottest summer day with the a/c running. Original Owners manual and two sets of keys with keyless entry system. One set of keys the original factory unused spare.

The following handicapped equipment and conversions were done by Rollx Vans, in Savage, Minnesota. They picked the vehicle up with a rollback from the Dealership, because I wanted to be the first person to drive it, and transported it to their facility for the conversion. Their Customer and Technical support is unparalleled. Their Technical staff will talk to you on the phone, and if you ever needed a part, they will actually sell it to you, give you advice on how to install it, and ship it to your door. Try getting this support from Braun. Don't get me wrong, Braun's vehicles are well made conversions, but they will not even transfer your call to the Service Department even to answer a simple question. Rollx will actually send a Tech to your home to service your van. I have had them come to my home for simple adjustments that they actually tried to explain to me how to do over the phone which physically I was unable to do, so they sent a Tech. I think the most expensive charge was $160. I would have purchased another Rollx, if I could find one, but got a very good deal on the Braun converted Town and Country that is replacing my beloved Dodge, which if there were not six vehicles in our family, I would keep, but it is becoming quite the chore to jockey vehicles around when I want to go somewhere.

Floor lowered 10" for ample headroom (I'm 6'2" and have plenty of headroom)

Hand controls with headlight high/low beam switch and horn button so you never have to take your hand from the hand control to blow the horn or use headlight high/low beam

Weighted steering wheel knob assist to make steering wheel turning almost effortless

Wheelchair tie down

6 way forward/rear, up/down, and 160 degree right swivel power transfer seat for handicapped individual to transfer from wheelchair to Captains seat to drive

Multi station ramp deployment

Kneeling system (passenger side of vehicle lowers to allow easy entrance for wheelchair entry/exit)

Kneeling system override (deactivates the kneeling system and allows ramp to deploy without lowering the van)

Removable Passenger seat for wheelchair seated passenger (accommodating two wheelchairs)

Outside ramp deployment station

Two remote controls for ramp deployment

RECENT MAINTENANCE TO VAN:

New Duralast battery (< 100 miles since installed)

New Exhaust (< 100 miles since installed)

New Brakes (< less 100 miles since installed)

Chrysler Dealership replaced clock spring (Factory recall. Lifetime warranty. < 100 miles since installed)

New Michelin tires with approximately 6,000 miles or less

Detail work (in April)

CONDITION: Excellent cosmetic and running/driving condition. No dents in body. Power windows, heat and air conditioning, cruise control, automatic door locks, all gauges, etc. are in excellent working order. The handicap equipment also is in excellent working order, e.g. the remote ramp deployment system, kneeling system, 6 way Driver transfer seat, and hand controls all function smoothly. The carpet does need a good steam cleaning. It, as you can imagine, is a bit dirty from my entering and exiting the vehicle, but nothing unsightly. Not quite as dirty as letting your 5 year old ride his bicycle in your house. The body has a few small nicks and wear conducive to regular highway driving, but nothing visually unsightly. In fact, any blemish it has requires close inspection to note and generally would be what you might expect of a vehicle a that is a few years old and far less than you would expect of one this age. She generally looks fantastic. Every year I have it detailed. This year was no exception.

I ONLY offer pre-owned antiques, or collectibles. Rarely do I offer new unused items. Virtually everything I offer has signs of wear commensurate with: age, daily use, storage, mishaps, or manufacturing defects. My photographs will disclose major issues. Superficial blemishes resulting from age or long term use, may or may not be shown, and should be expected of an item which has been used or stored. Unless the item is described as "NOS," i.e. New Old Stock, expect that it will show varying signs of wear commensurate with use or storage. Do not assume if the photos do not show a minor blemish that the item is "like new." While I am very thorough with my photos and description, it is the Buyer's responsibility as a Collector/Bidder to make specific inquiries about the item being offered, and consequently making their own informed decision based on the pictures or questions they may have. I cannot do this for you. While I have a fairly large knowledge base, there are a great many things I just do not know enough about to be considered an authority.
