1973 DATSUN 240Z

I found this Z in a barn two years ago with a Jag E-type coupe and MGB GT. Because of the fantastic condition of the undercarriage and original interior, i decided to keep her and fix her up. I’d owned a 280 and a 260 and I’d always wanted a 240. Over the next months, I had her mechanically sorted and had a vision of a sort of BRE tribute car. We wrapped the hood in carbon fiber, bought fiberglass bumpers, rear spoiler, chin spoiler and had her tuned by my Japanese car guru with upgraded carbs which had been freshly rebuilt. Today, she looks great, drives great and sounds AWESOME. The car was repainted maybe 20 years ago in an enamel paint that's in fair condition. It was originally a copper color. The interior is fantastic and very original. See the list below of all work and upgrades.

THE BAD - The a/c blows but it doesn’t get cold. I haven’t tried to charge it or repair it, as I always drove with the windows down. There are two small blemishes (bubbles) in the carbon wrap underneath the Datsun logo, which can be seen in the pics. I had fender mirrors on the car for a while and when we removed them, we inserted white plastic plugs in the holes. There is a scuffed area on the left arm bolster of the driver's seat. There is no spare tire or jack/tools. The stereo works well, but doesn't have much bass/low end.

This 240Z has a clear NC title, two keys and an owners manual.

The work that we did or had done:

• carbon fiber-look wrapped hood, rear spoiler, chin spoiler (not professionally done)

I’ve driven the Z maybe 150-200 miles since all of this was done. Drives great, sounds great!

Please bear in mind, this is not a fully restored car. We did what was necessary to get her driving well while also attempting to build my vision of some kind of BRE/JDM tribute.
