 This one-owner 2005 Ford Taurus was purchased in 2005 and was used as a police administration vehicle. It did not have any graphics and minimal electronics. This vehicle has very low mileage 51,251. The Bartlett Police Department adheres to a strict maintenance program, which includes oil changes every 5,000 miles and compliance with all manufacturer maintenance at suggested intervals. The new owner can be provided with the vehicle's service and maintenance history.

This vehicle is in very good condition and runs perfectly.

The vehicle up for auction has been inspected. The inspection revealed the front brakes will need to be replaced in the future (30% left on the pads), rear brakes ok, serpentine belt noisy but new.

The body is in perfect condition. A few door dings (see photo). Not a rust spot on it.  The vehicle still has an ignition over-ride switch, which allows the vehicle's key to be removed from the ignition while the engine is left running (see photo). All other electronics (interior lights, police radio) have been removed.

In the interior is in very good condition. The carpet is clean. The seats perfect. The driver’s floor mat has a little wear.

We have attempted to photograph all of the
flaws and encourage you to stop by to view or to test drive the vehicle. 

The vehicle title will be provided to the new owner.  

If vehicle is to be driven from seller’s location, Illinois law requires the new owner to have current registration and insurance on the vehicle. A temporary registration permit can be obtained from any Illinois Secretary of State office. 

This vehicle is sold "as-is" and there is no warranty.

Consideration of Bid.  Village of Bartlett reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to withdraw from sale any of the Personal Property listed.

Buyer’s Certificate.  Successful bidders will receive a notice by email from e-bay (the “Notice”).

Payment.   Payment in full is due not later than five (5) business days from the time and date of the Notice.  Acceptable forms of payment are:

• Cash (U.S. currency)
• Certified Check (Non-cancelable, with Letter of Certified Funds from bank)
• Money Order
• Cashiers Check

Checks shall be made payable to Village of Bartlett.  Payments shall be made at the location indicated by the Village.

Removal.   All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Notice.  Purchases will be released only upon receipt of payment as specified above.  Successful bidders are responsible for removal of any and all property awarded to them from the place where the property is located as indicated on the website.  The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, for removal of the property.  Under no circumstances will the Village of Bartlett assume responsibility for delivery.  Property may be removed between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays by prior appointment only.  Please contact Geoffrey Pretkelis: 630-837-0846 office, 630-837-0805 fax, or e-mail:  gpretkelis@vbartlett.org, regarding scheduling payment for and pick up of Personal Property.

Vehicles of Titles.   Seller will issue a title or certificate upon receipt of payment.  Titles may be subject to any restrictions as indicated in the item description on the website.  Open titles cannot be issued.  The Village of Bartlett will not issue replacement titles.

Default.   Default by Buyer shall include (1) failure by Buyer to observe these terms and conditions; (2) failure to make good and timely payment; or (3) failure to remove all items within the specified time.  If the Buyer fails in the performance of any obligation hereunder, as provided herein, Seller may terminate this Agreement and shall be entitled to all rights and remedies as are provided by law and/or equity, including attorney’s fees and court costs.  Seller reserves the right to reclaim and resell all items not removed by Buyer upon the expiration of the specified removal date.

State/Local Sales and/or Use Tax.  Buyers may be subject to payment of State and/or local sales and/or use tax.  Buyers are responsible for contacting the appropriate tax office, completing any forms, and paying any taxes that may be imposed.

Deposit of five hundred dollars must be paid within seven days of the close of the auction. The payment must be either cashier's check or money order paid to "The Village of Bartlett".
