I was at the Myrtle Beach “Run to the Sun” car show a few weeks ago with three thousand cars in attendance and there was only one 57 Ford Custom 300 there… and it was not for sale! I was also at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Food Lion Auto Fair a couple weeks ago with literally thousands of cars/rods and there was not one 57 Ford Custom 300!

These cars are rare to find so if you want one of the best in the country… don’t miss this one!

Up for auction is a 1957 Ford Custom 300 short body, cow-belly frame Hot Rod/Street Rod/Pro-Touring Super Car.

This car came from the Bobby Wigington collection and it is in a class all by itself. This is not only a super rare and very desirable car; it is also one of the best restorations and one of the finest Hot Rods that you will find or drive. It is super-fast however its street manners are very commendable. It is easy to drive and handles well. It is dependable and you can drive the car anywhere and in any conditions!

The paint & body is a drop dead knockout. It is slick and straight with a mirror finish. The car was professionally restored with all new tinted glass and rubber seals, new front and rear bumpers with a new grill, and Rocket Wheels with BF Goodrich Radial TA’s… Front P225/60R15 & rear P245/60R15’s. The rocker panels, bottom of the doors, inner fenders, and all other areas are intact and filler free. It is a real good body and a real good paint. There are only a couple of small chips from use.

The engine is a powerhouse. It is a 351w stroked to 427 with a Paxton Novi 1500 Supercharger. It has a custom built Pro Systems Racing Carburetor…”The World’s Fastest Carburetors”. All components are the best available including MSD distributor, ignition, and MSD 6-BTM box. It also has the top of the line aluminum radiator, headers, Edelbrock intake, Sanden AC compressor, Mildon oil pan, Thunderbird valve covers, and all neat and showy under the hood. The build was very detailed and even has a heat shield on the brake master cylinder. The motor starts up with quick bump of the key and it runs awesome!

The transmission is a performance built heavy duty Ford AOD Automatic w/Overdrive and Ford 9” rear end.

The underside of this car is as nice as the top with a gorgeous Cow-Belly frame, solid floor pans, all new bushings, fittings, lines, gas tank & straps, CalTrac bars (keeps axle from rotating helping maintain pinion angle), and every nut and bolt is new. The exhaust is stainless with Flowmaster mufflers or you can use the electric QTP (Quick Time Performance) exhaust cutouts and really draw a crowd!

The interior was restored to stock appearance (original style chain grain) with a few performance upgrades. It has a modern and more efficient tilt steering column, after-market tachometer, and hidden behind the radio delete plate gauges. It does have cold air conditioning and a ratchet shifter in the floor for performance.

To sum it up this is one awesome 57 Ford Custom 300! It is dependable and a quality build out of the collection of a well-known Ford collector Bobby Wigington. This is one of the best 57 Fords in the country and it just might be the best overall. I have sold a few of them and none have compared to this one.
