1976 Jaguar XJ6C Coupe. Rare Jaguar coupe in burgundy with a black vinyl top and black leather interior. Very clean low mile car with the more reliable and easier to maintain 4.2L 6 cylinder engine. Only 66k miles since new. Purchased new on 6/30/77 from Oakland British Motors by Dr. Jesse T. Quatse (designed the world’s first portable computer terminal in 1965). Was kept by Dr. Quatse until 1985 when it was purchased by a local Jaguar club member. He owned the vehicle until selling it to it's third and current owner in 1997. All 3 owners lived in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Included in the sale is all repair receipts going back to 1977. While it is a fairly large stack I did run across one receipt from Nov. 1983 that got my attention. It appears the Jaguar had some sort of an engine failure at 40k miles and received a complete engine rebuild from the bottom up at Performance Autohaus in San Rafael, Ca. The rest of the receipts seem to be for typical maintenance items like tune-ups, oil changes, etc.

The interior was redone with correct leather seat covers, door panels and carpet. A very nice Alpine CD changer stereo was installed as well an equalizer and great sounding Boston Acoustic speakers. All gauges are in working order. All power windows work. A/C blows cool and could benefit from a recharge. A Viper alarm system has been installed that allows for keyless remote entry. Windshield wipers work. Interior is very comfortable and nice.

The paint is in good shape with some checking on the hood and a few small scratches and dings. Car shows very well. Vinyl top is original and in very nice shape. Car does not appear to have ever had any rust. Wheels have been upgraded to newer style aluminum rims. Original chrome rims and hubcaps are included but do have some rust and pitting from outdoor storage. Undercarriage is clean.

The car runs good and goes down the road nice. This XJ6C is a rare car and would definitely benefit from an owner that can drive it on a regular basis.
