1980 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
One Owner - Rust Free - Low Mileage

You are viewing a privately owned 1980 Chevrolet Monte Carlo!
Classic Cars Online is helping the estate of the original owner  that has passed away.
You will be purchasing this beautiful vehicle directly from his estate. He purchased the vehicle on September 29, 1979.
His family and  friends are helping us put together this listing. This one owner Monte Carlo has never seen any winter weather and is rust free with the help of it being undercoated  and rustproofed when it was new. Currently the odometer is showing 51,200 miles. These are the original miles. The vehicle comes with a free and clear Ohio title  that is ready to be notarized and signed over to the new owner.

That is why at Classic Cars Online our listings will go over and show every area of the vehicle that is up  for auction.
Bid with confidence!

Body & Paint:

The factory color is "21L" Light Blue Metallic. From what we can tell, it still looks like the whole vehicle has the original paint. The paint is in very good  condition without any fading, checking, or other problems. It has always been stored indoors and out of the elements. It also has never been driven in any winter  weather keeping this car solid and rust free.  Additionally, it looks like the owner used extra rustproofing on a lot of the trim items and areas. As you can see in  a few of the photos, a lot of the trim items will need some extra cleaning and detailing to remove the excess undercoating. (photo #32) Kerosene works well with removing any unwanted tar/undercoating. The driver's mirror  was broken from road debris and replaced at one time. It will still need to be painted to match body color.  (photo #33) There is also one scratch on the top of the passenger front fender.  (photo #30)

Chrome & Trim:

There is one piece of stainless steel trim above the driver's door that has been dented/scratched. (From the same road debris as the mirror incident.)  (photo #29) The rest of the trim is in pretty good condition and will only need a little  cleaning and detailing to bring it back to new. The original hood ornament was stolen. The owner had purchased a new one, but currently it is still missing. (May  find it before the car sells.) The deluxe color correlated body side moldings still has a lot undercoating on them and should clean up fine.

Interior:

The blue cloth interior is all original. It shows very little wear if any. No tears, marks, burn holes or discoloration. Near perfect. The door panels look new along  with the dash area and all the control buttons/knobs. From what we can tell, all of the electrical items are working correctly. The lights, wiper, horn, gauges,  radio, rear defogger, along with the air conditioning. The air conditioning blows cool but may need a quick topping off of Freon to make it 100%. The carpet and  headliner both look good without any problems or fading. The steering wheel is not cracking or showing any wear.

Glass:

All of the glass windows are in great condition without any cracks, chips, or delaminating problems.  The side windows go up and down with any issues. The windshield is free of any stone chips or wiper marks. The rear glass has a factory Electric Rear Window Defogger.

Wheels & Tires:

The tires have been replaced with Pirelli P300 P195/75R14 white walls. Some still even have the blue coating on the white walls.  (photo #35) The tires are mounted on the stock 14" rims with the factory hub caps. The hub  caps are nice, but could use a good cleaning to make them pop. The spare tire looks new.

Trunk Compartment:

The trunk area looks like it did when the vehicle was new. Everything is in its place including the spare tire, jack and jacking tools. (Trunk Photo) This area is also rust free and was properly treated with rustproofing. The  weather stripping around the trunk looks great.  (Photo #72)

Chassis - Frame & Undercarriage:

The entire underside is solid and rust free. The undercoating looks like it did when it was installed 34 years ago. (photo #79) Remember, this vehicle was never driven in the salt during the winter months. (The  owner had the car in storage when he went to Florida for the winter months.)
Nine times out of ten, people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside.  The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car, that is why we took a few pictures of the bottom.

Mechanical:

Under the hood is a 3.8 Liter 2-BBL-V6 engine. (Standard equipment for 1980.) The owner's friends and neighbors are making sure the vehicle has been started and  driven around the block once in a while. The automatic transmission and rearend both seem fine. It shifts out great with no clunks, slips or jerks.  There is no known mechanical problems with the vehicle. The exhaust system, muffler and tailpipe, were replaced at one time. It looks in good condition with no holes  or leaks. Unsure when the brakes were serviced. We do know currently they are working fine. They do not pull, pulse, or make any noise. The suspension is quiet and  tight. The four original shocks may need replacing. (Weak, a little too much bounce.)

Documents/Manuals:

Being that the original owner still owns this vehicle, the Original Window Sticker, Bill of Sale and other important documents will go along with the sale.  He has a  lot of the dealer service records/receipts. Along with all this paperwork, he also has the original Owners Manual and the GM service manuals from Chevrolet.

TERMS OF SALE

Please read all of the terms before bidding.

Our goal at Classic Cars Online, LLC. is to broker positive transactions between buyers and  owners. We help with listing and presenting vehicles on eBay for the owners. We are not in possession and we have not inspected this vehicle. The owner provides us  the information and photos for the eBay auction and has stated the representations are true to the best of his/her knowledge.
We also have a "Risk Free" 7 day inspection period AFTER the auction for the winner bidder.
(See below for details.)
1) The owner provides and is responsible for any and all representations within this auction and not Classic Cars Online, LLC. The owner states that  the presentations are honest and accurate to the best of his/her knowledge and assumes all legal  responsibilities for the vehicle and representations.
2) At the conclusion of the auction and upon reception of a Five percent (5%) deposit, Classic Cars Online, LLC. will place the winning bidder in touch with the  owner to arrange for inspection or transportation. Classic Cars Online will accept the deposit on behalf of the owner. This deposit is due within 3 days of auction  closing. The deposit can be paid with a Certified Bank Check.
3) An Inspection of the vehicle is Highly Recommended and must be done within 7 days of auction closing. The remaining balance, is due to the owner at  inspection/acceptance. *If inspection is not completed within 7 days, or buyer waves his choice to inspect the vehicle, the deposit is nonrefundable and the deal is  finalized. The inspection can be done by the buyer personally or a third party inspector that the buyer hires.
4) Full payment is due within 7 days of auction closing. You are not purchasing a new car that is claimed to be flawless. Instead, you are purchasing  a vehicle that is old and expected to have normal wear and tear from age. The vehicle is sold "as is" where is without any warranty implied or expressed. All sales  are final once inspected or paid in full.
5) If the vehicle was found to be materially misrepresented at the inspection, your deposit  is refundable and you are not liable for the purchase but this must be determined within the  allotted seven (7) day inspection period. Regardless of our commitment to describe vehicles  in as much detail as possible there will be imperfections. Failing to mention for example an  item such as a small paint imperfection, a minor non-safety related item such as a switch  etc, does not constitute refusal of the vehicle by the buyer. We require you to put in  writing via email or fax the material misrepresentations in order to receive a refund of  your deposit. Taking a few photos of the misrepresented area for us to see, will help point  out and confirm your concerns. "Changed my Mind" is not a valid excuse for your deposit to be refunded.
6) Bidding on this auction demonstrates your acceptance to indemnify and hold harmless Classic Cars Online, LLC. from any liability resulting from this transaction,  including any reasonable attorney fees.
7) PLEASE DO NOT bid unless you have full intentions of purchasing at your bid price. Your bid is a legally binding contract as eBay clearly states. We  reserve the right to end the auction early. We also reserve the right to verify any or all bids to ensure excellent  auction integrity. Please do not ask the sellers reserve price as we will not disclose this information.
8) WE DO NOT accept bid retractions. If you bid and retract you will be added to our blocked bidder list and future bids will NOT be accepted. eBay allows for  you to triple check You're bid before finally entering the bid. Our integrity is impeccable as our feedback shows and we demand the same from our bidders.
9) Bidder/Buyer is responsible for all the shipping costs, insurance, title work, and must be 18 years of age or older.

Remember, whether you are buying a car/truck from eBay, Hemmings or Collector Car Trader, you will inevitably want to go and inspect the vehicle. Our system  is better than most as you can actually see several photos of the vehicle and enjoy a much more lengthy description, and then have a chance to inspect the vehicle  after the auction. ss
