Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a seller will post all but the most flattering of photographs. We prefer to expose the complete roll of film taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

The 1964 Eldorado Biarritz was Cadillac's top-of-the-line convertible model and a large luxurious Cadillac built in this particular bodystyle for only four years (1961-64) with slight re-stylings each year and no primary competition in its category. It could easily carry six people and had a power top for the first time in 1964 and also featured the all new and larger 429/340HP V8 engine with improved reliability and refinement (from its previous standard Caddy 390 V8) mated to the also all new GM Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, which proved to be a more reliable and smoother shifting transmission and which even today is still considered one of the finest automatic transmissions ever produced. This engine/transmission combination was hard to beat and together delivered a phenomenal 480 foot-ponds of torque! Only 1,870 models were built in 1964! These were the final years of the rear wheel drive Cadillac and amongst the best of the breed. With these rare mid-sixties models becoming increasingly thinned out now, these last year Biarritz models are now being appreciated by Cadillac enthusiasts more than ever before as an increasingly desirable and collectible Cadillac from its very best years!

This particular example is reported to have belonged to only two previous southern California owners, who would have to politely be considered mature owners, and who apparently always garaged and loved the car, but who were not adverse to the odd small supermarket parking dent or scrape! (See photos below).
Please note that the car does also have an older repaint that is currently showing its age with some oxidation and some now poorly matched panels. The interior is seemingly all original and in quite remarkable condition for its age and originality. Ultimately this is a very rare and unique 'daily driver quality' car, with a newly rebuilt engine and with all its options working, but still a car that should be considered a cosmetic project for either the Cadillac enthusiast to fully restore or else a great daily driver for an American classic car enthusiast who is not intending to win any local car shows!

It is a mostly all original survivor and a true original southern California car from the legendary former Beverly Hills Cadillac dealer 'Lou Ehlers Cadillac' of Beverly Hills, California and it boasts its original California 'Black License' plates and rare original dealer license frames. It still sports its original 'Firemist Saddle' color code 97 color paint which interestingly was featured in the 1964 Product Catalog to advertise the new model. Its original Sandalwood (Trim Code 14) Perforated factory leather seats are in very good condition and are matched to its correct original color carpeting
and power soft top, its all original real wood trim on the door panels is faded but all there, its original matching factory tonneau cover has now shrunk and is unusable, and its original spare wheel and jack are in their all original trunk compartment with a very rare original trunk carpet and spare wheel cover etc, still all intact as in 1964! The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any major accidents - obviously an always garaged southern California car since new with reportedly only two previous long time California owners!

The car has it's original matching # 429/340HP V8 engine which was completely rebuilt at 118,300 miles (some 2,000 miles ago) at a cost of $4,850 and there is a file of recent physical service records showing that at no time was any expense spared on this particular vehicles preventive maintenance! The rebuilt engine is obviously extremely strong and powerful and sounds absolutely magnificent! This particular car drives absolutely magnificently - it must really be driven to be fully appreciated - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money! The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and the car has four virtually new wide white wall tires. Please note that the car also has it's original spare wheel and tire and original jack as previously stated and all the options are working as they should including the air conditioning!

This is a rare opportunity to own a fully loaded and great daily driving and mostly all original and completely rust free example of a 1964 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible! This is the perfect car for the Cadillac enthusiast to fully restore to add to any serious collection or simply a great daily driving and turn-key ready example of one very fine 1960's all American legendary classic car for any classic American classic car collector!
