This 1960 Impala 2 door sport coupe (bubble top) was built at the (J) Janesville Wisconsin facility. Presented in (936)-Ermine White with Red Duco?Ž Code - 2967H interior the Id tag shows it being a 6 cylinder car but it has Crossed flags with a gold V on the grill and The rear of the car also carries an identifying emblem. The shield V and flags combination rules apply the same as for the grill emblem which tell us that a 348 cubic inch V-8 is installed. The other way to identify it is the dipstick location. 409 engines had the dipstick on the passenger side and 348's had it on the driver side. The Super Turbo Thrust V8 had three two-barrel carburetors and produced 280 HP at 4800 RPM with a Powerglide transmission. This engine has the 409 air cleaner on it for better air flow. The additional features included a short molding strip extending back from the headlights twin pairs of bar molding above and below the fender strip the quarter panel missile ornaments had 2 moldings streaking rearward and the area between them was filled with a white insert and Impala script.
