1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS

History

The Chevrolet Camaro is an automobile manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand, classified as a pony car, and some versions also as a muscle car. It went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. The car shared its platform and major components with the Pontiac Firebird, also introduced for 1967.

First-generation Camaro debuted on a new rear-wheel drive GM F-body platform and would be available as a 2-door, 2+2 seating, coup? or convertible with a choice of 250ci inline-6 and 302ci, 307ci, 327ci, 350ci, or 396ci V8 powerplants. The Camaro was touted as having the same conventional rear-drive, front-engine configuration as Mustang and Chevy Nova. In addition, the Camaro was designed to fit a variety of power plants in the engine bay. The first-generation Camaro would last until the 1969 model year.

VIN

This car is a true RS, but it is not a SS or Baldwin Motion. The color is Corvette Bronze - paint is Dupont Chromabase with 6 coats of color sanded Chroma clear. The motor is a Gen V-454 with a new, hard hitting Comp Thumper Cam. It has new 3 inch exhaust. Trans is a M21 Muncie. It has new flywheel, clutch, and a very heavy pressure plate. All front end parts are new such as A-Frame Bushings, Tie Rod Ends, and Big Block Springs, etc. It has new rebuilt 4 piston calipers front (factory), drums rear. Some of the car's factory options are RS package, gauge pack, deluxe interior, fold down rear seat, rear antenna, rear window defogger, factory 4-speed, and disc brake. Everything works on the car except tach, volt gauge, temp gauge, and horn. This car was frame-off restored. The car drives and stops great.
