This stunning custom Styleline Deluxe Convertible is finished in tasty Driftwood metallic PPG paint with beautiful chrome-work throughout! For a custom look, the halogen headlights and the tail lights from a 1950 Ford have been frenched into the body. The German convertible top has a dark brown exterior with a tan interior utilizing a factory motor and bows. The rear bows are modified to achieve a smooth contour. Two padded convertible top boots are included: one matching the top and the other matching the interior. The trunk is finished to match the interior featuring custom inserts in the lid.
Sitting inside the engine bay featuring a smoothed out firewall for a custom, clean look is a balanced and blueprinted 383 stroker motor with competition cam roller rockers. This estimated 400+ horsepower monster breathes through a custom air cleaner that sits on top of an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor. A Doc’s Blocks polished aluminum radiator provides cooling while custom valve covers gives you the finishing touch on the Edelbrock aluminum heads. A high torque starter motor brings this car to life while a dual 2.5” diameter exhaust through Flowmaster mufflers handles the soundtrack.
Power is put to the ground via a GM 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with a transmission cooler through a Ford 9” rear end. Road smoothing duties are carried out by front tubular A-arm and rear leaf spring suspension with anti-sway bars. A Ford Mustang II donated the power rack and pinion steering along with it’s front disc and rear drum brakes. The billet aluminum wheels come from Colorado Custom that are influenced by a 1957 Cadillac’s. Diamond Back wide white wall radial tires and rear fender skirts complete the look!
On the inside, the beige interior is finished in ultra leather hides with wool cut-pile carpets throughout. The custom finished dash is from a 1955 Chevy with a Classic Instruments gauges mounted in a billet aluminum cluster. A custom color matched dwarfed 1955 Chevy steering wheel sits atop a Flaming River steering column. Modern amenities include Vintage Air heat and air conditioning, power windows and a custom stereo system with concealed speakers, subwoofer and power amp.
This is a definite attention getter having won the Turtle Wax “Top Ten” award in 2008 and was the feature car at the 2009 Goodguys West Coast Nationals.
