The previous owner owned this car for 43 years prior to our acquiring it. It was his plan to gift the car to his son. Ultimately, the son had no interest and thus, the car became available.

 

The previous owner, now in his prime years, told us that he restored the car 25 years ago, and that it largely sat in his garage since then. Unfortunately, the car was painted with lacquer and the paint started to crack and come off of the car.

 

When we got the car home, we charged the battery, put in fresh gas, and she fired right up. Although we have not done much of a road test, we did take the car around the block. The car is available to be seen and inspected, just give us a call and set a time.

 

Ultimately, what this car represents is a remarkable canvas for a restoration. If you want to restore a MG but you don’t have the resources to do all of the work yourself, the best route is to buy the best, most solid restoration project that you possibly can. That way, your time and money can be spent doing things like replacing the interior, doing minor mechanical freshening, and having the car painted. Rather than spending tens of thousands of dollars at a body-shop having a rusty wreck patched up. Buy this car, sand it down, spray it in whatever color you want, install an interior kit from Moss and from there, you can do as little or as much as you want.
