For Sale 1958 Pontiac Star Chief 2-door Hardtop in Good Condition 69350miles. Original 285 Horse Power Engine with four-barrel  carburetor, 395 lb-ft of torque runs great.   Restoration is in progress.   Brakes, Drums and lines and rear axle bearings replaced 67,300 miles. Exhaust system rebuilt at 67,350 miles.   May 2008 upholstery, carpeting and trunk liner restored.  The carburetor was rebuilt and new fuel pump installed at 67,719 miles.  Original four speed Hydraulic Transmission was rebuild at 68132 miles.  Water system restored including radiator rebuild at 68,450 miles.  Car was undercoated years ago which has helped to preserve the frame and undercarriage.  The gas gage and the clock do not work and there is a rock ship in the windshield.  To complete the restoration the car will need some body work, paint and chrome refurbishment.

 1958 was the Golden Jubilee Year for Pontiac (it was Pontiac's 50th year in business) and many advances were designed into this car.  I owned a 1958 during my High School and College years.  I loved that car very much and after several attempts at restoring different cars bought this car in August of 2007.  I am the fourth owner .  The original owner was the wife of a Pontiac Dealer in Altoona, PA.  After she passed away the second owner bought it from the estate and garage stored the car for 35years passing it on to his son the third owner for a short time before I bought it through a broker in Atlanta Georgia. 

I know I will miss the car and the family knows this and would like me to keep it but,

1.  It has been a lot of fun with it but maybe it is time to move on because I am not getting any younger

2.  Most everything works and I would like to see someone that has the ability to take it to the next level

Deposit

The successful high bidder will submit a $500 non-refundable deposit within 1 business days of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle.

Payment of Balance Due

The buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes) within 3 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle.

Odometer Miles and Vehicle Inspection

By submitting your deposit, you are entering into a legally binding contract to buy this vehicle. All vehicles are sold as-is unless otherwise specified. We have done our best to accurately describe this vehicle. The miles you see are the actual miles on the vehicle at the time of the listing. This vehicle (as well as all of our vehicles) is available on our lot and may be driven on any day. Because of this the actual miles may vary to some degree. The buyer of the vehicle is responsible for all state, county, and city taxes and fees, as well as title and registration fees in the state the vehicle is to be registered.

The dealer documentary fee covers all documentary costs as well as overnight shipping for titles, paperwork, etc. The dealer service fee covers inspecting the vehicle for proper operation, checking fluids, arranging transportation, arranging airport deliveries, and multiple additional costs associated with reconditioning your vehicle.
