This 1970 Oldsmobile 442, W25 Ram Air shows a fresh frame-off nut and bolt restoration.  Remarkably, they began with a solid driver.  She still retains all of the original GM sheet metal.  She is also 100% numbers matching 365 horsepower 455 and Turbo 400 Transmission.

This 442 born to bull fight; factory equipped in Matador Red, code 75, paint.  The original black interior was swapped out in favor of the eye-popping Pearl White interior to better compliment the factory top and side stripes.  Like most Oldsmobile's of the day, she is well optioned, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt Wheel, White Power Top, and W25 Cold Air Induction Hood.  OE correct Super Stock 1 wheels are shod in OE correct Goodyear Polyglas tires.

The best restorations tend to begin with remarkably clean cars.  This one was a dry, well-kept driving example before undergoing a complete rotisserie restoration.  As a result, the car retains all its original sheet metal and bright work, only needing to be restored as opposed to replaced.  The result is a bank vault substance to the ride and a Swiss watch precision to the door and convertible top operation and fit.  Red and ravishing, the paintwork is superior to factory, mirrored finish, uniform panel gaps, the body leaves nothing left to be desired.

The interior restoration was, like the rest of the car, complete with every detailed considered.  The original black was substituted for factory Pearl White trim to give the original white stripes that added “pop” when the top is down.  All soft trim has been replaced with OE quality new materials.  Wiring harnesses, gauges, all accessory systems have been restored and fully operational.  All the bright work and trim are also like new.  All the seals and convertible top assembly have been completely rebuilt and are in showroom condition.

Engine Bay Description

The entire drive train was disassembled, checked, cleaned, machined, and rebuilt to factory specs, allowing changes only to accommodate reliably burning modern fuels.  No half measures were taken from air cleaner to rear end.  The engine bay exudes factory detail, from the OE correct belts, hoses and wires to the factory inspection marks and paper tags.   If you are looking for a 442 that runs as smooth as new and looks like 1970 when you open the hood, this is it.

The floor pans began rust free and are original.  The frame, brought down to bare metal and powder coated.  The floor, along with the rest of the body was blasted down to bare metal and painted in the correct OE shade of black.  All the suspension was disassembled, refurbished, restored, and reinstalled.  All new rubber bushings, brake and fuel lines, exhaust system and gas tank were installed along with a completely rebuilt braking system.  OE correct Super Stock 1 wheels are shod in OE correct Goodyear Polyglas tires.  Not to leave any detail overlooked, factory inspection and assembly marks were put back in place.
