1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, 440 Magnum, Deep Orange, “Rocky” car

A lot of Mopar fans collect SIX PACK and HEMI cars to recapture of piece of their well misspent youth.  The owner of this car remembers things more accurately than most.  The "street fighter" package that the Dodge Boys won bragging rights with weren't fussy mulit-carb jobs with a "mystery shifter" four speed, they were the big-inch 440 4bbl Magnum mated to the 727 TorqueFlite transmission and a Sure-Grip rear end.

This 1970 Challenger R/T 440 Automatic recently underwent a complete rotisserie restoration.   The original broadcast sheet confirms this well optioned street terror presents the way the factory made her, Deep Burnt Orange Metallic, Burnt Orange Vinyl and Cloth Interior.  Far from FT6 Burnt Tan “stick around brown”, FK5 Deep Orange shows like the sunset over the badlands of South Dakota, especially under a blue sky.  The Deep Orange theme is carried through on the premium cloth and vinyl interior.  Combined with the stripe delete option and Sport Hood, the whole package says "sleeper" without being dowdy; muscular and elegant at the same time.

The engine and transmission are the original numbers matching units born with the car.  All the body numbers are likewise present and accounted for.  All options are documented by the original broadcast sheet and fender tags.  Hemi's may have won a few battles at Daytona, and SIX-PACKS some skirmishes on the NHRA drags, but the 440 Magnum won the war on the street.  If you are looking for more time well "misspent", then drop hammer in to DRIVE and push the pedal to the floor, this Challenger is waiting...

Exterior Description
As with the rest of the car, it was taken down to bare metal and built back up, workmanship and OE detail are state-of-the-art.  All the glass is either new or like new, properly proof marked and date coded.  All the stainless has a tight factory fit and gleams like showroom new.  All the badges, bezels, and light lenses are in as new condition and correct to the car.  Body panel fit and finish are better than factory, even and smooth.  The paint hue is OE correct, the finish superior to factory, little or no orange peel and a glass like smoothness as you look down each side of the car.  The doors are properly hung, closing with a quiet “click” as you push each close with a single finger.  The inside of the door bears the familiar signature of a beloved line worker, “Rocky” known for signing the cars he proudly assembled in grease marker somewhere not likely to be found.

Interior Description
Freshly restored, taken down to bare cabin and built back up.   Wiring harnesses are new, all gauges and accessories have been professionally restored and are in “like new” condition, fully operational.  She oozes OE detail throughout, right down to the correct date of manufacture tags on the seat belts.

Engine Bay Description
Engine the rest of the drivetrain were professionally cleaned, machined, and rebuilt as part of the restoration process.  The engine bay shows what a pure stock 440 looked like sitting on the dealer lot.   Everything is correct down to the belts, hoses, and clamps.  The battery is a modern sealed unit for reliability’s sake.  Turn the key and race to the next stoplight, just what she was made to do when ordered new!

Chassis Description
Chassis is finished factory stock, right down to grey primer with body color overspray.  All the lines, suspension components, bushings, are new or refurbished as required.  The biggest flaw on the underbody and the entire car for that matter is a jacking mark one the frame rails that was not straightened out during restoration.
