THE SEARCH IS OVER! It really is hard to find a gas/electric hybrid for under $5k. Its hard to just find a Honda in good shape with good miles on it for under $5k. This 2001 Honda Insight Hybrid with an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION is in great condition and is up for NO RESERVE, meaning this car will sell to the highest bidder when the auction ends!  With only 125k miles on it, do not miss your chance to actually own a 60+ MPG vehicle when gas prices are starting to creep up again!

INTERIOR: The upholstery is all in good shape, as you can see in the pictures, nothing is ripped or torn. It is a used vehicle so it has some signs of light wear like light blemishes on the seats. A professional detail should clean this right up! The windows work properly as well as the powered locks and the 1 keyless entry remote. The radio and speakers work great and sounds good. The climate control is also properly working just like everything else, the heat is hot and the a/c blows cold. To me, this vehicle gives great first impressions, and shows that it was cared for through the years!

EXTERIOR: The body is in excellent shape! The pictures show this Honda Hybrid very well! The protective clear coat is still very smooth. I didnt see any major scratches, dents or dings on the vehicle. The Goodyear tires are in great shape with plenty of tread left. I assume this vehicle was garage kept most of its life.

MOTOR/HANDLING: I am familiar with the Honda Insight, and this particular one starts right up just as it normally should. The hybrid idles with no odd sounds or any smoke coming from the motor. The vehcile shifts into gear smoothly with no jerks or grinding. The acceleration is pretty responsive and quicker than you would think a hybrid would be. The automatic transmission shifts smooth through every gear and rpm. The battery charges accordingly when not accelerating heavily as it should. The auto stop works as it should also. The brakes stop the vehicle better than expected, the powered steering is quiet and smooth just like the suspension is also. This Honda feels very reliable and to see it get ridiculous fuel economy like 61 city/68 hwy is something most people will never see!

All in all this vehicle can pay for itself in a year or so. You can pay a third of what your paying now for gas, atleast half! Almost 70 mpg is a huge difference! The maintenance required light is currently on, and it comes on to remind you when the oil change is due. You are supposed to reset it when you have it changed. There is a 'next service due' sticker that is set for 128,100 miles and obviously the reminder was never reset. There is also a check engine light currently on. This was reviewed by a mechanic and I was told the car needs o2 sensors. These sensors go bad over time. This repair can cost around $200 and we can have the work done for you prior to your arrival if you are going to drive this vehicle home. The check engine light does not seem to effect the way the car runs and drives.
