This 1969 Ford Torino GT 428 Cobra Jet is a mean looking, ground pounding super hero car. It's a genuine black on black, R code, Drag pack car that turned mid 12 second 1/4 mile runs with the previous owner and is now set up for street cruising. While this car looks and runs great, it could use a cosmetic touch up for show.

 The paint looks really nice, but there are some scratches primarily where the hood pins are as well as the left front fender. A good detail might help, but there are also some checks forming on the hood as well. 

 Inside, everything looks great. The seats, carpets, dash, and headliner are all very nice, but the dome light lens is missing. All controls seem to work, but the heater is still bypassed from it's drag racing past. There is also a brake pressure gauge in the center console, and what looks like a switch for bias control?

 Mechanically, it just had almost $8000 worth of work done and it runs fantastic! Brutally fast and loud, this car turns heads and refuses to be ignored.

 A rare, nicely optioned muscle car that can be raced, or just set up to scare people on the street. More detailed information below...

“This is a genuine R code, drag pac 1969 Torino GT. The code says black jade when new.  At some point it was repainted and Cobra emblems were added. We have no idea how many or few miles are on the car. It was used for the past 5 years as a weekly drag/fun/cruiser. It has the 428 motor that’s been race built with Edelbrock heads, custom Ultradyne solid cam 255/263 @50 288/296  .634 .652 on a 112, Comp Cams roller rocker system, NOS Ford 427 hourglass lifters, Isky pushrods, polished Offy Ports O Sonic intake, Holley 830 annular carb with The Needles Edge adustable jet system, Edelbrock aluminum water pump, Hooker Super Comp headers, Ford Motorsport Cobra valve covers, Milodon 8 quart pan and 427 windage tray. ARP fasteners were used to hold it all together.  The engine was done the S&J Machine in Belmont, CA by Butch Jennings.  The short block has maybe 50 12 second passes (high .40s to mid 70s) at 108 to 112 at Sears Point and Sacramento raceways.  The C6 trans with full roller kit, low first gear set, reverse valve body and brake was done at L&M Transmission in Redwood City, CA by Randy Cloud.  The converter is a Hughs 10” 3500 stall.  The Rear is the factory N case, 4 pinion posi 31 spline drag pac piece with a 4.10 Richmond Gear set.  The frame is tied with South Side Machine sub frame bars welded in.  It has Cal Tracs and the stock drag pac leaf springs. Depending on prep it 60 foots in the high 1.60s to low 1.80s. The car is very predictable and if you’re good at the tree, it’ll go rounds.  It has two Moroso line locks one front and one rear and an Auto Meter brake pressure gauge for the rear, in the center console.  It runs on 92 octane pump gas.  It still has the battery in the front and rubber motor mounts and a frame strap.  It has a drive shaft loop, long wheel studs and it has never failed NHRA or NDRA tech.  The interior is very nice.  The body if solid.  The heater was working when we disconnected the lines for racing, its been my experience that Ford heater cores don’t like going fast and they’ll wet your feet.”
