SOLID AND NICE RUNNING TRUE CHEVELLE SS WITH # MATCHING 396/350 HP AND MATCHING 12 BOLT WITH THE 355 POSI REAREND. TRANS LOOKS TO BE 68' MUNCI ROCK CRUSHER ACCORDING TO LAST OWNER. I THINK M21? THIS GUY BUILT THIS CAR FOR STREET RACING BACK IN 80's, AS I WAS TOLD. BUT HE GOT A FEW TICKETS AND PARKED IT. LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN USED FOR A TABLE FOR MANY YEARS WITH ALL THE SCRATCHS BUT IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A SOLID KANSAS BUILT CAR. ONLY RUST IT HAS OR EVER HAD IS BEHIND LEFT WHEEL. STILL HAS A 6" SPOT BEHIND THAT LEFT QUARTER, SEE PHOTO OF DROP DOWN. UNLESS HE REPACED THE REAR TRUNK FOR RUST AND THATS WHY ITS TUBBED. 

HE REALLY LIKED WORKING WITH METAL, AS YOU CAN TELL LOOKING AT PHOTOS. BUT FOR THAT TIME HE DID NICE CLEAN WORK. REAL NICE EDGES AND BENDS.  I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND THE FRONT INNER FENDERS AND THE COLORS. I WOULD SAY HE WORKED FOR GULF PETROLEUM.

TO BE SERIOUS, THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. SHIFTS GOOD. REALLY GOOD BRAKES. DISC ON FRONT. LOOK UNDER THIS THING. I DONT THINK HE EVER GOT IT WET UNDER THERE AND IT ALL HAS BEEN SCRAPED OF UNDERCOAT AND PAINTED. EVERYTHING WORKS ON CAR EXCEPT STEREO AND HORN.  THE HEATER IS GONE AND SMOOTHED OVER.  IT HAD A FUEL CELL BUT IT WAS GONE WHEN I GOT HER. I HOOKED UP THE CORRECT CHEVELLE GAS TANK IN TRUNK, AS IN PHOTOS, WITH AN ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP TO THE EXISTING HARD GASLINE. THE MSD IGNITION WENT BAD SO I PUT IN A REGULAR GM IGNITION AND DISTRIBUTOR. I AM LEAVING MOST OF THE MSD STUFF IN CASE BUYER WANTS TO GO BACK TO IT.
I GUESS THIS CAR WAS IN A HEATED GARAGE MOST OF TIME. LOOKING AT THINGS, IT DONT LOOK LIKE IT HAS BEEN SITTING IN COLD STORAGE IN INDY. IT WAS A KANSAS CAR BUT HERE IN INDY FOR YEARS. I MEAN BRAKE LINES LOOK NEWER, WIRING LOOKS NEW INSIDE AND THE OLD 14" POLYGLASS TIRES HAVE NO DRY ROUGHT.

THE 396 ENGINE HAS A BIGGER THAN STOCK CAM BUT NOT HUGE.  HAS HEADERS. HAS A HOLLEY 780 DOUBLE PUMP CHEVY #3878261. ALSO HAS A POWER STEERING GEAR BOX BUT NO PUMP. THE GUY MADE A STEEL BOX AND RAN 2 HOSES TO IT TO LET FLUID CONTINUE TO FLOW WHEN YOU TURN KEEPING INSIDE CLEAN. LOOK AT THE FRONT MOTOR MOUNT THIS GUY MADE, NO TWIST THERE.
 THE ENGINE #S AND PARTIAL VIN ON ENGINE ARE PICTURED. THE EF STANDS FOR 396 / 350 HP MANUAL.
THE 4 SP TRANS CASE # IS 3925660. I BELIEVE THAT IS 68 AND NEWER MUNCI, THEN THE STAMP ON SIDE LOOKS LIKE P8F12. NOW THE GUY TOLD ME ITS A ROCKCRUSHER BUT YOU GUYS CAN LOOK UP #S AND DECIDE.
THE REAREND STAMP IS KF 0419 K AND BELOW IT IS E FOR EATON POSI. KF FOR 355 POSI CHEVELLE AND IT RUNS OUT LIKE ONE. FRONT OF REAREND HAS A DATE CAST OF D117 FOR APRIL 11, 67.

THE COWL TAG READS 138 FOR CHEVELLE SS. IT ALSO READS TRIM 723 FOR BRIGHT BLUE BENCH SEAT AND PAINT CODE D FOR NANTUCKET BLUE. THE ROCKER HAS A 138 CODE IN IT, SEE LAST PHOTO OF IT.

IT WOULD BE SIMPLE TO CHANGE TRUNK BACK TO STOCK AND JUST ADD INNER FENDERS OR GO PRO STREET ALL THE WAY WITH WHATS THERE. EITHER WAY ITS A NICE CAR TO BUILD. FRAME IS PERFECT IN THIS CAR AND NEVER WRECKED HARD. IT HAS BEEN BUMPED AROUND.

EXTRAS: I DO HAVE A PAIR OF BLACK CHEVELLE BUCKETS THAT ARE DRIVER QUALITY AS IS, BUT IF RESTORING THEY NEED RECOVERD. I WOULD SELL THEM TO BUYER. I DONT HAVE ANY BACK SEATS. I CAN PRICE IF INTERESTED.
