Classy looking, rust free, all OEM original frame & sheet metal 500XL Ranchero that was originally purchased and driven in central CA. Car had only 48K miles on it when it's original 302 engine was removed for a transplant into a '68 Mustang (about 30 years ago). Original owner planned on doing a 428SCJ install, but that never happened. Car was purchased by 2nd owner about 5 years ago and he proceeded to install a 1990 5.0 HO Mustang motor that he had just rebuilt. The original 3-speed C-4 trans was professionally rebuilt with a shift kit and it works better than new. The original 2v carb & intake were installed in place of the 302HO's factory fuel injection. This actually works quite well and the engine starts and runs beautifully. With the 3.00 gears this car will cruise down the freeway at 80mph all day long, but for more power and it sure is fast.

Same (2nd) owner then treated this car to an all new correct Royal Maroon paint, all new reproduction GT interior (seat covers, carpeting, headliner, GT door panels), new tires (Cooper radial GT 14"), and a beautiful set of REAL vintage SHELBY AMERICAN deep dished polished ALUMINUM WHEELS with center caps (7" fronts & 8" rears--see photos) in EXCELLENT condition. THESE WHEELS ARE WORTH AT LEAST $2000 to someone restoring an early GT350 Shelby. MSD hi-po electronic ignition is brand new. Vintage Ford GT Hood scoop & front grill bits were installed, along with vintage PROTECT-O-TOP (Santa Clara, CA) fiberglass rear bed tonneau cover which was also painted to match. This cover is in very nice condition, very rare, and is spring loaded and LOCKABLE with key (included). ALL stainless trim and chrome are original and very nice. Tasteful custom hand pin striping was applied under the clear coating which also looks really good. All new suspension; shocks-bushings-brakes-idler arms were installed. All new hoses-belts-etc. on engine. Original steering box has NO play and is very tight. Power steering and power front disc brakes all rebuilt and replaced with new as necessary---& they work excellent. Has an all new set of Hooker Headers along with all new 2" dual exhaust w/Dynaflow mufflers all the way back. Original dash is excellent and uncut (NO CRACKS in dash) including original AM radio. Custom dashmat cover included. A custom built floor console under dash holds drink cups, and Amp-Oil-Water Temp guages. Also holds a CD disc stereo with new speakers installed, but the faceplate got lost so stereo will need to be replaced. Small speakers (new) installed in kick panels leave door panels uncut which looks much better. UNDERCARRIAGE is EXCELLENT and rust free with no signs or damage or collision. Rear bed is in excellent condition with only a couple small dings on each inside wheel well. NO rust/corrosion/damage noted anywhere.

All original rust free sheetmetal and low mileage chassis Rancheros are extremely hard to find. Just wet-sanded the paint finish and it has a super high gloss, glass finish. Drive this car every day and have a ball with it.
