Up for sale we have a 1940 Chevy 5 Window Coupe. The quality of this street rod is easy to see. It has what you want in a street rod with the big engine, brakes, steering, AC, and even leather interior. This beauty screams quality from front to back. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of the Chevy, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.

Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. We will start off with the exterior of the Coupe. The body was taken off the grame and took all apart and reworked before preassembly to assure a good fit and finish. It was then pulled back apart and painted in the Victory Red base Coast with a lot of clear that has been buffed and polished to a mirror finish. When the restoration was done new glass, window felt, and weather stripping was installed. The tail lights were updated to LED and the Headlights were updated to Halogen. The fuel tank was relocated and a pop up access was added. To ensure a kick ass look they put 20x14 American Racing Wheels on the rear and 18x7 on the front with new tires.

Next, we will take a look at the interior of the ’40. It is all done in Beige Leather that really sets off the exterior scheme. The seats are a set of low back buckets with what looks to be the correct rear seat. The dash is painted in the same Victory Red with a Tilt Wheels and a LeCarra Steering wheel. All the gauges were updated along with a Vintage Radio and Vintage Heat/AC. The trim around the doors, windshield, and back glass is chrome. This ride has been fitted with seat belts. The window knobs and pedals are Locar Aluminum. They even took the time to be sure that the horn and dome light work as they should.

Finally, we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood all the fire wall and inner fenders are painted to match the exterior. The engine is a BB V8 that is mated to a 400 Turbo Trans and a 9” Ford Rear End. It has been dressed with a Weiand Polished Intake and Polished Aluminum Valve Covers. Also it has billet pulleys and brackets, a chrome alternator, and a Polished Aluminum AC Compressor. The ignition was changed to MSD and an Electric Cooling fan was added. It comes with Coated Headers and Flows for the exhaust. When you look at the bottom up front it appears to have what looks like a Fat Boy Front End with Tubular Upper A Arm, Rack and Pinion Power Steering, and Power Front Disc Brakes. It has very good floor and the frame appears good and solid
