This RARE and exceptional BMW runs and drives like new. The Alpina-engineered 4.6 liter V8 was derived from BMW's highly-regarded 4.4 liter motor. This improved version puts out 340 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque. The sport suspension from the X5 4.4 is used, and brakes are upgraded as well. Put it all together, and you have an SUV that drives like a sports car. It will do 0-62 mph is 6.5 seconds, and the 1/4 mile in 15.1 seconds at 92 mph.Top speed is about 150.
The 4.6is comes pretty well fully loaded. Unique features include the 20" chrome wheels outside and black leather seats with red and black Alcantara inserts inside (the door panel inserts match). Special high-gloss dark interior trim is used, and the "Imola Red" paint was not available on the base X5, either.
