1987 Mercury Grand Marquis LS

I've never been a huge Ford or Mercury fan, as my tastes always gravitated toward GM and Mopar Cars but when I saw this car I fell in love with it.

My sister had one back in the day and I remember she purchased it new when her children were little ones because this was one of the safer, more reliable cars of its time.  At the time they looked enormous but by today's standards it's a well-tailored, car, and I've always believed design-wise, one of the most elegant, beautiful cars ever produced.  Much nicer than the same era Crown Victorias which were more utilitarian, and more "cop car" looking.  These cars cost Ford only about 800.00 less to produce than a comparably equipped Lincoln at the time.

Fit and finish are exceptional on this car, as it was picked and owned by a Ford "lifer," a retiree from Dearborn, Michigan area.  It was in his private collection until age and health made him decide to part with it.

When you see this special example, you’ll know it needs to be in your collection, or your garage.

Up for sale is my 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis LS.  The LS was the more luxurious version of this car..  It has 11,800 original pampered dry, rust-free miles.  Never rained on, snowed on, winter driven. This car has been a lifelong “garage queen” which other than a battery and new exhaust system, is completely original and unrestored.  Even the tires which are in like new condition, are the original 70 series Michelin whitewall radials.

The paint is original, in fantastic condition and it wears all of its original black factory-painted pinstripes and original vinyl half roof.

This car has four perfect original turbine alloy wheels and the original perfect matching spare Michelin tire.

It’s engine compartment is immaculate as you can see.

These cars are beautiful, elegant, extremely well made and this is one of the finest examples of a Ford/Mercury/FoMoCo you will find.

Never smoked in.

Absolutely a dream to drive, smooth, refined, silky.  I have to admit, much nicer than Cadillacs of it's same era.

I didn't look for the build sheet but I am sure it's somewhere and likely in pristine condition.

All services up to date.
