THIS CAR HAS NOT BEEN DETAILED!!!

IT HAS BEEN WASHED, VACUUMED, AND WIPED DOWN WITH TURTLE WAX QUICK SHINE PRIOR TO BEING PHOTOGRAPHED.

IMAGINE HOW AMAZING IT WILL LOOK WHEN YOU TAKE THE TIME TO DETAIL AT HOME!

OVERVIEW

Those of you regularly follow my auctions know that I am a 100% dyed in the wool pickup truck FANATIC! I love em', I drive em', and I have a hard time parting with em' too. This truck is so nice, I may actually end this auction early and decide to keep it, because it is one of the finest examples of a Street Rod Truck I have ever had the pleasure of owning and driving.

The truck passed it's NSRA SAFETY INSPECTION in August 2012, which is the last time the prior owner took it to a major show, and has been driven very little since then, so you KNOW it is done right and is ready to roll anywhere!

So take a look at the 100 extra large photos, read the VERY detailed description below, and act fast, before I go and change my mind!!!

CONDITION REPORT

Stunning.

That is the one word that keeps coming out of peoples mouths' every time they see this truck.

Stunning.

It is probably the best word you can use to describe a truck that is at once, Nostalgic, a Hot Rod, a Show Truck, a Long Hauler, and an absolute head turner.

The first thing that catches you is the gorgeous Orange Pearl exterior finish. From top to bottom, the finish is rich, luxurious, slick, and practically flawless. It really glistens in the sunlight, and dang near changes color on you in the streetlights glow!

The fact that it is so fault free after 23,200 miles of freeway flying is a testament not only to the quality of the finish, but to the care the truck has received since the build was commissioned in 2005.

This truck is ALL HENRY STEEL, and has NO beer can, chicken wire, or any of those other shortcuts in it. It is scary straight, all panel gaps are exceptional, and fit and finish is beyond compare.

Yes, I am sure it has skim fill somewhere on it, but I took 4"x4" felt covered magnet over the ENTIRE truck, and it sticks like glue. This is a very solid, very steel truck from the hood to the tail gate.

There are less than a handful of truly miniscule marks on the truck, and they are primarily on the front lower fascia where you need to lay on the ground and look up to see them. Even then, I am talking about pencil tip size stone chips from road debris that you cannot even see without having them pointed out. The only other mark I can see is on the tailgate bolt, where a small part of pain has worn a little. I have a detailed shot of it below.

Any other seller on eBay would simply say the trucks finish was perfect, flawless, and all those other things. It is pretty dang nice, but I call them like I see them, so you are happy when you get it home!

Other than those minor little normal use marks, it truly shows like it was just done last week, and has a gorgeous pearlescent glow that really dances in the sunlight or under the street lights glow.

No big scratches, no big scuffs, no bubbling, no real marks of any kind are evident, and it shows like the high dollar finish it is.

Glass on the truck is in exceptional condition as well, with only light marks on the windshield, nothing too speak of on the side and rear glass, and just one tiny inner layer crack on the driver side bottom that I highlighted in the photos below. The prior owner said it cracked when installed back in 2005, and has not got worse or larger in the last seven years.

All of the rubber, weather seals, etc. are in exceptional condition, with no cracking or dry rot. They were installed when the truck was built over 2005-2006, and still show like new.

The chrome center hood band and latch, and the exterior and interior door handles and window rollers on the the truck are original, and they are in great condition, with only a light patina to show for 74 years on earth! Light markings add to the character of the chrome, and as you can see in the extra large detailed pictures below, it is not really that bad at all.

The rest of the chrome still shows exceptionally well, with no issues. This includes:

CHROME FRONT GRILL INSERT

CHROME FRONT BUMPER

CHROME HEADLIGHT SURROUNDS

CHROME ANTENNAE

CHROME WINDSHIELD WIPER ARMS

CHROME TAIL LIGHT SURROUNDS

The front grill insert on the truck was painted to match, but as I was taking these photos, I didn't like the way some of the slats felt loose, so we elected to purchase and install a brand new chrome grill insert that you see in some of the photos. The painted grill is included in this auction, if you want to repair the loose slats and use it. That is why some of the photos show the old grill, and some show the new chrome grill.

The tail gate on the truck is fully functional and has included rubber sleeved chains, but since the tonneau securely helps it stay shut, they were never put on to avoid scratches.

The tonneau itself is a high dollar unit custom made for the bed with two times the snaps as normal cheap units to make sure nothing tears or breaks. All of the snaps are functional, and it comes on and off with ease.

Inside the bed, the wood slats are in good condition, and show patina and wear and moisture stains from having gear, coolers,  and show chairs moved in an out on those long cruises. The prior owner said he even slept in it one night on the Hot Rod Power Tour!!!!

The bed wood is held in place by stainless strapping, and it is in good condition, but in need of a little elbow grease and polish to make it show new again. REMEMBER...THIS TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN PROFESSIONALLY DETAILED! Just imagine what a little cleaning will make it look like!

Bed sides were treated to a VERY light coating of liner material prior to paint, to protect them against gear being moved in an out. They show very light marks and scuffs from normal use, but with the tonneau on you'll never see it, and it sure is functional.

The battery is a bed mounted vented unit with a custom leather covered shell around it that is in very good condition.

Open the doors on this truck, and you are met with a super clean and uncluttered interior that is comfortable for most drivers and passengers. I am 5'11" and 250 pounds, and have no issues getting in and out, and no issues with headroom thanks to the trucks UN-chopped top!

I had a woman about 5'3" get in and feel comfortable, and I had my friend who is 6'3" and about 240 pounds get behind the wheel and not feel out of place.

The door panels, kick panels, rear panels, headliner, and trim bands are all covered in a gorgeous tobacco tan leatherette that looks fantastic and has no signs of tears, rips, staining, or damage. The kick panels are vented for the hidden speakers.

The seat is an original 40 Ford truck bench that was rebuilt, re-stuffed, re-sprung, and covered in a matching tobacco tan leather that is damage free and ultra comfortable.

After the interior was painted and covered in layers of heat/sound proofing material, automotive grade cross weave banded carpeting was custom cut and fit to the truck. It looks fantastic, and is damage free. Plus, when you detail out some of the small dirt marks, it will look even nicer!

A LOKAR tall curved shift arm with chrome base plate sticks up through the floor within easy reach, and looks and functions perfectly!

An IDIDIT truck column was installed and painted to match, and has tilt steering with a billet tilt arm, billet turn signal arm, and billet mounting brace.

It is topped with a model A style reverse billet steering wheel that is partially wrapped in leather for good looks and comfort.

On the dash, from left to right, you will see one of the chrome air conditioning vents, billet headlight switch, electric windshield wiper switch, and the chrome horn button.

Center dash is the VDO Vintage Series brass surround SPEEDO/ODOMETER, followed by a matching TACHOMETER.

Then, the same VDO gauges in smaller size handle OIL, TEMP, VOLT, and FUEL reading duties.

All of the gauges are working, and appear to be functioning as they should, but I have not individually tested and calibrated each one for 100% accuracy.

To the right, the billet controls for the Vintage Heating and Air Conditioning unit are next to the Jensen 160W AM/FM/CD/MP3/iPOD capable head unit, that sounds great playing my Johnny Cash through it!

The windshield wipers are dual speed electric units, and they function great for when you get caught in that Route 66 thunderstorm! (Trust me...it WILL happen!)

Overall, the inside of the truck presents itself as show ready RIGHT NOW, and can only be made to look better when you get it home and detail it out!

Open up the ALL STEEL hood on this truck, and you are met with a super sano and show ready engine bay that is just gleaming with chrome and billet goodies!

The engine itself is a 351 Cleveland that was completely stripped to the block, cleaned, and rebuilt from scratch with all new internals, a mild Lunati cam, and new heads, intake, carb, gaskets, seals, and all those other little bits of stuff you need when building a motor from scratch.

It is LOADED with chrome, from the valve covers to the breather, to the A/C Compressor, to the alternator, and dang near everything in between!

A gorgeous MARCH PERFORMANCE Serpentine belt drive is super expensive, and SUPER clean, and the truck comes with the spare single belt the prior owner always kept for those long trips!

If it isn't chrome, it is billet aluminum or painted and in show ready condition!

The mirror polished aluminum valence panel fills the space between the grille and the custom made CoolCraft performance radiator that has a super quiet and super powerful electric fan system attached to make sure tempratures never get out of hand!

The motor was built in 2005-2006, and has just over 23,200 miles on it, so it still performs and runs like new. It does NOT leak, or mark its spot, at least not after a 100 mile trip when left to sit in the same spot at my shop for three days afterward!

It is mated to a Jackson Machine built FORD C-6 Automatic transmission, which was also completely torn down and rebuilt in 05-06 from soup to nuts. It does not leak either, and it shifts perfectly in all speeds up or down. No shift kit, so it doesn't jerk you around at all, and it smoothly kicks down to pass on the freeway as well as your neighbors Crown Vic.

Power then travels down the custom balanced driveshaft to the FORD 9" Rear end. Yep, you guessed it... The rear end was a freshly refurbished unit in 05-06 as well, and is packed with freeway friendly 3.15 gears that let the truck cruise at 70mph while taching just 2,700 RPM.

Suspension duties up front are handled by a MUSTANG II front end with power steering and disc brakes, while the rear gets performance shocks and springs with BIB drums.

Brakes are perfectly proportioned and set up to bring the truck down from speed with no wander, pulling, excessive fade, or brake steer issues.

The chassis of the truck is clean and painted, and other than dirt from being driven, would clean up to look fantastic! It is not, nor was it ever intended to have mirrors put under it at a show, because it made to be driven, not trailered!

The truck rides on BEAUTIFUL chrome fat steelies with matching moon caps, and they are all in fantastic condition and damage free!

Rear tires are STARFIRE SX5000 radials size P275/60R15 and they are damage free with less than 2,000 miles since installed.

Fronts are MASTERCRAFT Performance Radials size P165R15, and they are damage free and less than 2,000 miles as well.

The truck starts with a turn of the key, idles smooth and strong, and is ready to roll immeadiately.

Snick it into gear, and it shifts smoothly and cleanly through each gear up or down, with a solid and sure kick down when passing.

It is SUPER highway friendly, as that is what it was made to do, and it rides and handles like a modern car at 70 mph!

Power steering is solid and sure feeling, and as I said earlier, braking is simply sublime.

Air conditioining and heat work perfectly, and the system is an R134 unit.

Wiring is neat and clean, and easily laid out for future additions you may want to make.

Ride is comfortable, but not so soft as to make the truck wallow around, and it handles just fine on the twisties and exit ramps!

This is a PROVEN, well done truck that was built at considerable cost. The truck has been on the Power Tour, cruised the whole East Coast of the U.S., been to NSRA and GoodGuys shows around the country, and was inspected and earned its 2012 NSRA SAFETY CERTIFICATION the last time the prior owner had it out to show in August 2012!
