    The 68 Charger is one of the most sought after Muscle Cars. The body styling is truly unique with just the right amount of curves and agressive lines. Due to low production numbers relative to their Ford and GM counterparts as well as healthy losses from racing, rust and exports, they are quite rare.

     

    This '68 is a rare opportunity to get a running and driving example under the $30k mark. For the most part this B-Body is complete. With some trim work it could be presentable as a driver. The hard to find pieces are there.

     

    The floors appear to be in good condition. There is the normal rust in the typical places such as the trunk and lower quarters. The current paint is best described as an older amatuer job. The car has been painted more than once and I do not know the history. If you want a virgin car, this is not it.


    The grill does have imperfections, but appears to be complete and repairable for a driver. These grills can sell for over $2000 used for nice examples and $1000 for just a repairable one. The headlight doors are currently not functioning by the switch, but they work freely and can be raised or lowered into place manually.


    Originally equipped as a standard 318, non-R/T, this one has been upgraded with a great running 383 with Magnum Exhaust Manifolds, 4 Barrel Intake & Holley Carburetor, Performance Camshaft and Mopar/MSD ignition. It has a nice, aggressive idle. Nice options like Power Brakes and Power Steering are well appreciated with a Muscle Car of this size. Dual electric fans are attached to a Huge radiator and should keep this thing cool on the hottest of days!

     

    While the heater, wipers, headlights, charging system, etc all currently work, the wiring has seen many modifications for large stereo systems, cooling fans, electric fuel pumps, driving lights and more. The previous owner drove the car for years in this configuration. We strongly recommend that a new harnesses be installed. They are relatively inexpensive and widely available online.


    Make no mistake, this is a project. There are lots of 'opportunities for improvement'. The chance to get into a running and driving Charger in this price range is extremely rare. As such this in NOT a show car, it is a project. This was a driver for the previous owner. However, we would recommend that some disassembly and inspection be done prior to returning this one to a driver status.
