1969 Mercedes-Benz 280
SL Pagoda Convertible

This is a true barn find Pagoda 280SL.The paint is horrible but do not judge a book by its cover!!! We spent appx $3000 refreshing fluids,fuel system,brakes and have a sewing machine smooth 280 engine with a very tight and smooth run and drive.An astute Mercedes afficionato can review the pictures of this car and see it has solid,honest bones! The car sits up and square on all four corners,no sagging.The gauges are in good condition and operable,the chrome is good,the seats are great but unfortunately the drivers seat has inperfection that will require replacement.I only found rust in a few small typical areas,the trunk floor is crusty but solid,the valance below the drivers side rear bumper has a small bit of corrosion(review pic)and both floor boards as they curve upward forward has an ever so small spot,both sides.Fenders,doors,decklid,suspension points,are all solid.Glass is good.Soft top frame is good,soft top is bad.This car is good enough,one could get away with just a respray and have a good solid driver or it has great integrity for a full restoration.If you have been looking for such an example,contact me at 615-971-4409.This and other European collectibles can be reviewed at jpfrazier.com.There will be an additional $298.50 assessed to each sales transaction for dealer doc fees
