Up for sale we have a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1. This was the second year for the Mach 1 with only a few changes from the ’69. They did away with the vents behind the doors and the ’70 had dual headlight and a honey comb panel between the tail lights. This was the first they 351 Cleveland engine was offered. The Mach 1 we have for you comes with a Marti Report showing it to be a true Mach 1 that came with a 351 Cleveland. In the paragraphs to follow we will give you a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Ford, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.

Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. We will start off with the exterior of the Mach 1. When you look at the body it’s super solid and straight as an arrow. It has good daps and when you look down the side it has great lines. Everything is covered in the Indian Fire Red Paint that is accented by the blacked out hood with scoop and black trim. The paint has a deep rich shine and is as slick as ribbon. When restored it had new bumpers installed as well as other new trim. All the window stainless look good and the weather stripping appears to have been replaced. It comes with the rear window louver and the dual sport mirrors. The final exterior touch is the set of 18” and 20” Wheel and Tire package.

Next, we will take a look at the interior of the ’70. Everything looks correct and is done in black that provides the perfect complement to the exterior scheme. It has bucket seats and console with the 5 Speed Hurst Shifter. This Mach 1 has the Wood grain dash and inserts in the door. Also it has the fold down rear seat. All the carpet, door panels, headliner and dash pad looks very good. As a whole it is neat and clean with even the dome, door, and under dash lights working as they should.

Finally, we will take a look at the driveline of the Ford. Under the hood it powered by a 351 Cleveland that is mated to a 4 Speed trans and a 9” Ford Rear End. The engine is dressed with an Edelbrock Intake and a Holley Carb. The ignition was upgraded to MSG and it has polished aluminum valve covers with a chrome breather. For the exhaust they installed large tube coated headers with Flow Master Exhaust. This is a manual steering and brake car as many of them were. When you look under this ride all the floor pans and frame rails look solid with no visible signs of damage.
