Factory books: very seldom does one find such a collection of GM factory ‘List of Manuals” for investment, showing at Pontiac conventions and maintenance for the rare 4-speed TransAm (LINK), one can see that the love and collector care that has done into this vehicle, some of these books are enormous in scope, such a collection of factory books are valuable themselves,

 

Engine/Transmission: the original 305/5.0 litre ‘H’ engine is just for this 4-speed car, the largest engine offered for that year, it runs just great, professional effort just spent to make sure it works at top performance, has the GM stock HEI ignition, factory 4v carberator rebuilt and tuned, factory Shaker hood/intake, this original engine raises the value of this car, a Lunati Voodoo Camshaft is installed along with new lifters and springs just finished, (SEE LINK), the attached link of ‘numbers’ greatly adds to the investment value of this TransAm, (SEE LINK), for the excellent even compression, new starter, new water pump, new power steering pump along with full hoses, full engine tune with fresh oil, filter and spark plugs, new battery, full dual exhaust system with mellow sounding Flowmaster Series 50 mufflers, proper rear exhaust outlets, note that this is the original 4-speed transmission,

 

Body: the bare metal wonderful paint and body work is just completed (SEE LINK) with many photos documenting the work on this paint, all original body panels that are amazingly straight with the factory smooth lines emphasized, no rust car from California and Arizona then to Atlanta, note that the repaint was just done and the final buffing by a top professional is just completed for a really wonderful luster, detailed for Spring 2014, all the weather stripping is new, new window moldings, even the very long doors hang correctly and close perfectly due to new hinge pins and bushings installed, new front grilles,

 

Interior: the blue 'leather' seats are in outstanding condition, both front and rear, four factory safety belts, proper center console, stock 4 speed shifter and handle, the factory 'hammered' dash is in great condition as it was also restored, all gauges with bezels look good and work including the tachometer and clock, note the factory ‘race type’ tilt steering wheel is an upgraded option,

 

lots of work to make the air conditioning system work since many of the parts are hard to get today, Fraser Dante spent extensive effort to install working ducting under the dash, some of this air conditioning was missing from 1981 when an uprated radio was installed, it is hard to find these pieces and real a/c expertise was used in order to make sure it works, a brand new compressor installed and all lines fully checked for leaks, the note the new dryer has ice cold condensation on it, the air conditioning/heater blower motor is even replaced,

 

Brakes/Suspension: the brakes have just been checked for safety and performance, front discs and rear drums, fresh rotors and metallic pads just installed for great stopping full receipts, the front suspension is checked to make sure all the bushings and ball joints are in fine working order, has the factory heavy duty front sway bar, added heavy duty rear sway bar just done for excellent handling, new shocks around, the tires are new B.F.Goodrich Radial TAs in 235/60/15 just installed and balanced, note the dated rear end still has the factory tag on it, the floors and the underchassis are completely stock, these are original and have just been fully cleaned, after this effort, silicon is used to protect this valuable steel in such fine condition,

 

History: In the final year of the Second Generation Firebirds in 1981 with its aggressive styling, the Trans Am still used the same engines as it had in the previous model year, with the only change being the addition of a new electronic carburetion system, the assembly plant code for Van Nuys, CA it is "L", the PHS shows it was delivered with the ‘H’ 305/5.0 litre engine, this car was initially found by Fraser Dante, sold to an Atlanta collector who did a lot of the work mentioned above, hard to find such amazing car for a awesome looking car, here is the statement via LINK that our seller gave us when he bought anther car and Fraser Dante acquired the car for Spring 2014 and went through it again,
