Up for auction is an awesome 1957 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop Sport Coupe. The 57 Chevy Bel Air is without a doubt the most iconic of all of the American Classics and the most recognizable of all times.

This 57 Chevy has the best of both worlds with that classic iconic look however with the modern and dependable drivetrain of a C4 Corvette fuel injected with the matching 6-speed transmission. Add the cold hard blowing air conditioning and the restored/upgraded suspension and you get an investment grade car that you can drive and enjoy anywhere you want to go.

This 57 Chevy was restored almost 15 years ago however it has been garage kept, pampered, and protected and the car looks like it is only maybe 1 year old or less. The car is very nice. The mileage is 8,384 miles since restoration.

Paint & Body

The body on this 57 is real good. The lines are excellent as you can see in the many pictures listed below. If there is any body filler anywhere… I can’t find it. The rockers have the original pinch welds and straight all the way across with the factory seep holes of course. The doors shut nice and tight and easy with that solid sound just like they should and even the window flaps close tight all by their selves. The glass and the rubber seals are good and the chrome, trim, and bright work are excellent as you will see. The paint is slick and shiny and looks good. The panels are straight.

Interior

The interior was completely restored with factory red/black with silver woven tinsel welt with pyramid pattern headliner and sun visors. It got new loop carpet and who doesn’t love that original style 57 interior. It’s just how it’s supposed to be! It does have modern gauges in the factory dash accommodates and of course the 6-speed shifter in the floor. It has a pretty good sounding sound system with an amp hidden under the driver’s seat. Obviously all of the wiring was restored and to accommodate the modern motor and such. The interior is excellent and doesn’t show any age at all. It still looks new.

Engine & Drivetrain

The engine is a C4 Corvette LT1 (1994 model) with the matching 6-speed manual transmission. The motor and transmission were 5 years old and with less than 30,000 miles when donated to this build back in 1999. The build was excellent as this LT1 engine and components are designed and integrated so well that they honestly look like they were born in the car! It has a very nice custom build fan shroud/radiator support. Its fuel injected and cranks right up every time. The transmission shifts smooth. It’s good!

The underside is solid with a new aluminum fuel tank, stainless exhaust system with Flow master mufflers, and it got all new springs, shocks, bushings and front and rear stabilizer bars.

If you have been looking for a 1957 Bel Air that you can depend on, enjoy, and be proud of; then don’t let this one get away. The new owners will be very happy indeed. I wish that I could keep this one, but then again I feel that way about most of them!
