1956 Mercury Montclair Convertible -AACA Nat'l First Place- Gorgeous! SEE VIDEO

1956 Mercury Montclair Convertible

This car received a full frame-off concours quality restoration in 1993 and in 1994 received a National First Place Award from the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) and today proudly wears badge #25B0669 as testament. Since restoration, it has travelled just 7,834 pampered miles. Always stored in a climate-controlled garage, today it shows beautifully, as seen in the photos shown here, that were taken this past week.

The rebuilt 312 cubic inch, 210 horsepower V8 runs like new. Please see video. The cosmetics of the engine attest to the low mileage since restoration. The "Merc-o-Matic" automatic transmssion shifts smoothly, giving this 3,725 pound car plenty of get-up-and-go. Power steering. Brakes stop the car smooth and straight. Correct wide whitewall bias-ply tires with continental rear spare.

The body and paint are stunning, in two-tone factory "Glamour Tan" and "Classic White." The body is straight with excellent panel fit. Doors close easily and securely. All chrome (and there is a lot of it!) was replated at the time of restoration and is gorgeous today. The interior was completely reupholstered in correct style and material throughout and is fabulous with no wear. Please see photos. This car has manual windows (a big plus, in my opinion) and power top. Optioned with working Town and Country radio, 4-way power seat, and Heater/Defroster.

Overall, this is a spectacular Montclair Convertible that will take you down the road or on to the show field in style.

These were low-production cars when new, with just 7,762 made. A realistic reserve has been placed on this car in keeping with its rarity, quality and pedigree. It could not be restored to this level today for the reserve price. Please bid accordingly.

WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BIDDERS, WORLDWIDE.
