This car has spent its entire life in the city of Mesa, Ariz., and is a known legend to the locals of the dry city. This Belvedere was purchased from a dear friend of ours who lovingly cared for this beast over the past seven years. Starting with the 1962 model year, all full-size Plymouths were downsized with more compact outside dimensions. American car buyers at the time were in the thought mode of “Bigger is Better,” and sales of these models suffered. However, the big block V8-engined (426-CID) Belvederes proved to be a terror on the track, and became a desirable drag race car due to its lightweight body. The 1963 and 1964 models used the same uni-body platform as the ‘62s, but were restyled to look longer and wider. This dynamite fifth-generation Belvedere in our showroom is an authentic recreation of a 426 Max Wedge, desirable for drag racing fans due to its light weight and powerful engine combination. This extremely dry and solid Belvedere retains its original body panels. The exterior is a classy Ermine White and shows beautifully. This Belvedere sits on steel belted radial tires measuring P205/75R15 (front) and ET M/T rear street slicks measuring 28x11.50-15LT (rear). The current front bumper and hood are fiberglass, but the original steel hood and bumper are included with purchase. This Belvedere benefits from an 8 3/4 limited slip rear end with original super stock springs and extra long wheel studs. The interior seats are bucket seats with black vinyl Chrysler cloth patter. In Max Wedge racecar fashion, the rear seat can be removed, but the original rear seat is still included. The gauges are original with the addition of aftermarket Auto Meter tachometer, oil pressure and water temperature. Under the hood is where this coupe gets its power with an outrageous 440-CID V8 engine with an original Max Wedge dual cross ram manifold — a desirable style and upgrade. This was originally a 383 push button automatic car, but it now has a push button 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Also, the front disc brakes from a 1965 Plymouth police car have benefitted this recreation. This bad-ass Belvedere would look great in any collection looking for that old school street-racing feel. Mileage currently reads 64,323, VIN is 3235124323, and it is being sold on a clear actual mileage Arizona title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!
