1971 Chevrolet El Camino

1971 Chevy El Camino Original restoration 350 engine low miles. The specimen pictured here, one of the classic 1971 models ( the 350 E lCamino) . By this time, the musclecar wars were spreading their wings. The big-engine/small-body formula had been all but perfected, and the despondent era of emissions-control malaise that pretty much neutered the roller coaster of horsepower was just around the corner. In this period, the El Camino, like all other GM cars, was an uproarious billy goat of a machine, a car that could do burnouts until its tires wore down to the rims. ( I know i did it a few times)...

The El Camino was so closely related to the Chevelle that everything from the windshield forward was largely interchangeable throughout both cars' generations, and engines were shared. Quad headlights were ditched in favor of two large units. The 396 engine was dropped entirely from the lineup, and for the first time, an SS could be had with a small-block, as SS350, or SS396 (in actuality a 402-cubic-inch motor) with either 2- or 4-barrel carburetors. This particular car has the 350 big block, with a complete restoration of its interior from the seats to the doors with the white accent double stripes accross the hood. When you look at the pictures of this El Camino you will see that it is in rare condtion and perhaps one of a kind with all its originality.
