THE F ON ENGINE CODE BY THE BOOK SAYS IT MEANS IT CAME WITH POWERGLIDE. NO MENTION OF 4BBL. THE CASTING # ON INTAKE IS 57 CHEVY, #3731398.  2ND LETTER IS A "C" FOR BELAIR.

 TRUE BARN FIND THATS BEEN SITTING FOR YEARS AND HAS A LOCKED UP ENGINE WITH NO BRAKES BUT THE E BRAKE DOES WORK SOME HOW. I DID TRY TO START AFTER GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM SAID HE TRIED TO FREE IT UP. STARTER ENGAGES BUT WONT TURN IT. THE LIGHTS AND TURN SIGS DO WORK. THE HORN BLOWS. GAS GUAGE FLYS OVER TO FULL WHEN KEY IS TURNED ON. ELECTRIC WIPERS AND BLOWER DIDNT WORK WHEN TURNED ON. CAR ROLLS EASY AND TIRES DO STAY UP. I CAN LOAD ON TRAILER REAL EASY HERE.

THE BODY IS A BIT RUSTY. DOES HAVE SOLID FRAME, SOLID HOOD, SOLID TRUNKLID, TRUNK FLOOR IS GOOD EXCEPT THERE WHERE LID CLOSES. THE STRUCTURE BEHIND GRILLE IS SOLID AND THE RADIATOR SUPPORT. SOLDI FIRE WALL. SOLID TOP AND POSTS. DOOR POSTS SOLID. CENTER OF FLOORS SOLID UNTIL YOU GET 6 TO 12 INCHES FROM ROCKER. THE LEFT QUARTER SEEMS REAL GOOD. THE REST OF PANNELS NEED REPLACED IN MY OPINION BUT YOU COULD FIX THEM.

THE GLASS IS REAL GOOD EXCEPT WINGS. THE WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN. BACKS A LITTLE STIFF. DOORS WORK WELL.  ALL THE STAINLESS IS REAL GOOD EXCEPT RT FENDER TRIM HAS A TWIST. ALL THE OUTSIDE CHROME IS PITTED.

THE ORIG. INTERIOR IS ALL THERE EXCEPT ORIG RADIO. SEAT SPRINGS AND CUSHION STILL FEEL STRONG. THE DATA TAG IS PICTURED BUT I HAVENT FOUND ANY THING TO DECODE THEM. IT WOULD BE NICE IF SOMEONE CAN TELL ME IF THE COLORS ARE RIGHT. SHE IS A GREAT CAR TO RESTORE AND WITH THE LOW MILES DOCUMENTED IT WILL BE WORTH ABIT MORE WHEN RESTORED.
