 The reason 1LE cars exist is because of SCCA showroom stock racing. As the name implies, showroom stock racing requires that all competing entries be absolute production cars. Naturally, GM wanted to widen its advantage over the competition, so to utilize items like bigger brakes and lighter driveline pieces on its race cars, it first needed to make them available on the production cars. This super rare and beautiful Formula is one of Pontiac's only 10 entrants in 1996 to showroom stock racing.

Pontiac 1LE cars were and even more so now are very very rare. One could only purchase a Pontiac 4th GEN 1LE car on the WS6 Ram Air Formula. Factory built 1LE Formulas ended in 1999. These were all special ordered cars with the 1LE RPO code. The code brought track ready suspension and the WS6 brought the best muscle Pontiac was producing.  The Formula brought all that performance on a very light build. 1996 was the first year one could purchase one with A/C. 96 was the first year that one came with Koni double adjustable shocks. There were only 10 total 1LE Formulas built in 96 and only one in 13U Sebring Silver. There were total of only 63 total 1LE Formulas built on the 4th gen platform (93-02), yet there were 566 1LE Camaros built during the same period. 

If you are looking to purchase a beautiful super rare Pontiac, you need to strongly consider this exquisite example. When you are looking to purchase a rare collector vehicle, a very rare and low mileage car is what you hope to find. Very few 1LE cars are still in this condition. I have never seen one this mint and clean. The CARFAX/AUTOCHECK score is above the range with no accidents or anomalies of any kind.

No doubt this is one very beautiful, very desirable and super rare Pontiac. 

This car was signed on the hood and the dash by the last Pontiac NASCAR champion Bobby Labonte. Both signatures are removable but are definitely a plus to the value of this rare production track car.
