Up for auction is a 1957 Chevrolet 210 2-dr Hardtop Sport Coupe Street Rod/Hot Rod. This is a North Carolina car and a Good Guys and a Super Chevy Show Winner. The previous owner is a 35 years paint & body business owner and this was his personal car that he built for himself from the ground up. The build was carefully planned out and meticulously built. The car has made several road trips and it is road worthy and it runs on pump gas, it is not a trailer queen…its dependable. This 57 Chevy is awesome!

The paint & body is a drop dead flawless knockout big time show winner. The color is true turquoise and metallic grey roof. The side panels inserts were painted to match the roof as well as the inside part of the wheels which really makes this 57 pop!

The car is as straight as a gun barrel and the paint looks like it is a foot deep. The chrome and bright work is excellent and the glass and seal are new. The wheels are custom painted American’s with Tiger Paw radials on the front… P195/65R15’s and Hoosier Radials on the rear… 29x12.50 R15LT’s. The stance on the car is awesome as you can see in the photos.

The interior is 100 percent custom handmade and stitched and 1-of-a-kind. The interior is very cool with the 50’s retro integrated into the seats, door panels, and package tray. The front seats are High Dollar Recaro sport buckets with the Retro pattern hand sewn in and with custom chrome piping. The rear seat matches and the custom chrome piping looks great. I love it! The door panels are custom hand made to match as well as the kick panels and the package tray. It also has new carpet with Belair floor mats, new door handles, window cranks and sill plates. It has the original speedometer and working odometer which reads 52,413 miles. The car has about 3500 miles since the restoration and has made a few trips from the Highlands NC to Charlotte as well as a couple trips to the Atlanta area. It has Auto Meter fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, water temp, blower pressure gauge, and a Pro Comp II tachometer with memory. The MSD 6A box and the MSD Blaster coil are mounted under the dash. The toe panel and firewall is custom fab. It has a JVC stereo CD player sound system. The trunk is finished out nicely with the stainless fuel cell and stainless battery tray.

The engine is a Chevy 355ci professionally built with a BDS 671 blower producing 550hp. The motor is very detailed inside and out with attention paid to every detail for top performance and dependability. The heads are Kenny Duttweiler Trick Flow aluminum heads that were port matched for an exact fit to the manifold. As mentioned above, the blower is a BDS 671 polished billet stage 1 blower with dual Holley 600cfm custom built carburetors (built specifically for this blower). The inside of the block has painted internals with roller rockers, roller cam, and complete performance internals. The radiator is a Be Cool Extreme 1000 HP module with dual electric fans with a custom painted matching cap. The headers are Sanderson’s. Everything is polished and billet and it looks as good as it runs. This is a very dependable motor and it is streetable and runs fine on pump gas. The previous owner drove the car from his home in The Highlands, NC to Charlotte (200 miles) two times, and he drove it to a couple of other car shows about the same distance. The car runs great, drives great, and it is dependable.

The transmission is a TCI special HP built 700R4 with a 2500 stall lockup converter. The rear end is a narrowed Chevy 10 Bolt with Summers Brothers Axles and a 3.73 positive traction unit. The brakes are Hydroboost power 4 wheel disc and they stop the car very well. The frame has been beefed up with a 3” steel rear frame connector, panhard bar, large 4” anti-sway bars on the front and rear with poly bushings, Anderson Engineering 4-link setup, and front and rear drive shaft loops frame tied further increasing the frame support. The frame and this car could easily handle 1000hp or more and is plenty beefed up for the drivetrain that’s in it. Up front the car has the factory A-Arms with coil overs and Atsco GM bolt power rack. The car really handles great like it’s on rails, very easy to drive.

The car sounds as good as it looks with the Sanderson headers going into the 3 1/2 ” stainless pipes with huge 24” Flowmaster mufflers and then back out thru the stainless pipes.

This car was built by a super meticulous gentleman in North Carolina who ran his own paint & body shop for many years. He is a very detailed guy and he planned and built this car just exactly like he wanted it. He enjoyed the car for several years and only decided to sell it because he also just finished building a Ford truck that has been in his family since the 30’s, and needed the space. He had a couple of other high dollar cars that were absolutely unbelievable as well and I’m only telling you this so that you get the picture of where the car came from and what caliber car this 57 actually is. The build cost near $70k and he did most of the work himself!
