MotoeXotica Classic Cars has yet another movie/celebrity car in our showroom waiting for a new home. We have in our inventory the 1976 Buick Century Wagon used in the HBO movie “Behind the Candelabra” — complete with the piano keys wrapped around the exterior.

The third generation of Buick Centuries came in three different body styles, one of which was a four-door station wagon. Of those station wagons, they had two-seaters and three-seaters. This Century wagon in our showroom is of the three-seater variety with rear jumpseat and overall room for nine.

Based on Scott Thornson’s memoir, “Behind the Candelabra” is a 2013 American drama film directed by Steven Soderbergh about the last 10 years in the life of world-famous pianist Liberace and the secret affair he had with the younger Thornson. Jerry Weintraub was the executive producer. The movie debuted at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival on May 21, 2013 and aired on HBO five days later.

Michael Douglas (Liberace) and Matt Damon (Thornson) starred in this movie which featured this ’76 Buick, and now this piece of movie memorabilia can be in your collection thanks to MotoeXotica Classic Cars. The car was driven by Matt Damon on several occasions in the movie while he chauffeured Michael Douglas on his escapades. If you are into DNA, both will be found!

The most striking feature of the car is the piano keys wrapped along the lower exterior. This is fitting for the famous pianist and definitely sets this car apart from anything else — Buick or movie cars! The wagon currently sits on four Kumho All-Season 793 tires measuring P 225/75R15. The exterior is Mount Vernon Cream.

This Buick retains its correct Buckskin vinyl interior and the original dash and gauges. A sunroof is there to let the air in as you ride down the highway. The third seats folds down in the back for more cargo space. Under the hood is a 350-CID V8 engine — in a correct engine bay — mated to an automatic transmission.

This is a unique movie prop that will add some flare to your collection. On top of all this, this car comes with its original owners manual, invoice, window sticker and build sheet! This agreement to arbitrate shall survive the sale of the automobile described herein. Buyer and Seller hereby agree that Missouri law shall control for all purposes under this Bill of Sale. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Missouri to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgment of and enforce the award of the arbitrator. All above terms and conditions are applied to vehicle sales, whether through Ebay or otherwise. Sorry, but in all fairness to the bidding process, I will NOT disclose my reserve price until the auction has ended.

Payment Terms
Payment must be made by Cashiers Check, Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be received within Twenty-Four(24)hours of the auctions close either by Master Card, Visa or PayPal. The buyer has seven(7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is not to your liking within this seven day inspection period then your deposit will be refunded 100%. If an inspection or decision takes longer then seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. I will not be responsible for buyers remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left my property. I am just being realistic, most of the cars I deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and should not be treated as such. Once full payment has been received, Seller will fax a copy of clear title, Bill of sale, Buyers guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via fax. The forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer Via overnight mail seven(7)days from date of final payment. Transportation will commence only after final payment and signed documentation are received. Once a car is picked up from our premises, you will NOT be able to return the car.
