If you’re looking for an original short wheelbase, early 911 vintage racer that is numbers matching, street legal, vintage racing pedigree, rust-free, with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, then this is the car for you.  Well known on the west coast as the Cranberry #777 Porsche racer.  Use as vintage racer, rally, or easy conversion back to full street.

History: This 911 (Chassis # 306478) was purchased new on April 12, 1967 by the first owner from Vern Hagestad Motor Co. in Denver Colorado.  I have the original sales receipt.  The car was sold by the dealer as a 911S, with options including a wood steering wheel, wood shift knob, and chrome wheels.  The chassis number clearly indicates that this car is not an S, but a normal 911.  It appears that the dealer decided to add a few options and call it an “S”.  I guess car dealers back then were no different than today.  While still in Colorado, it appears that the car was used as a street car and periodically raced in autocross and rally events.  The car subsequently came to California, used as a daily driver and possibly raced in PCA autocross and rally events in the San Diego area.  The owner prior to me found the car on Coronado Island in about 2000 and converted the 911 to a vintage race car with minimal modifications made for safety.  I acquired the 911 in 2005 and have been racing the Cranberry 911 in west coast vintage racing events since.  This 911 was accepted and raced in the 2011 Rennsport at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway and most recently was accepted and raced this year in the 2013 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.

The car is professionally maintained by IPB Autosport in Sacramento, receiving routine maintenance and pre-race checks before every event.  The car is extremely reliable, never any dnf’s.  The car is always stored inside, trailered to track events, and periodically driven down to the local fruit stand.
