Wow, Mercedes-Benz : G-Class 280GE

This is the vehicle of my dreams!  I spent a solid year searching for this it and the day after purchasing it my house sold and I needed to move in a hurry.  Because I had no place to put it, this Mercedes G is now sitting in my former neighbor's garage.  I'd prefer to keep it until I had a place to store it, but my neighbor needs his space back.  My loss is your gain.

The reason this is such a great find is that the frame is perfect.  I've inspected many Mercedes G's from the 80s and this is by far the best.  All other G's from the 80s have had serious rust issues yet this is ready to go.

The other reason I liked this is I was told the engine was bad.  Personally I wanted to replace the existing M110 engine anyway, so this was what I was looking for.  Note: the previous owner was an investment banker type with multiple Mercedes and as soon as this stopped running he wanted to sell it and never bothered investigated the problem.  I didn't have a chance to do a compression test on it, but assume the engine needs replacing although maybe get lucky here.

The body of this is in awesome shape and it is extremely rare to find any close to this condition.  I wish I had more photos to supply, but since it is stored away I can't take them without being a further inconvenience to my neighbor. I was told, when I bought it, that everything was in working order except the engine.  This I believe because everything the guy owned looked flawless.

This has leather seats, but the driver side seat is rough and could be reupholstered.  Also, the driver side window glass needs to be replaced.

This is your chance to own one of the best designed vehicles of all- time.  You can take it off-roading in the day, hit a carwash, and it will fit right in taking a date to fancy restaurant.  This thing has got some serious class and it will turn heads anywhere you go.  You are sure to be the only person in your area driving this kind of vehicle.

I'm a big fan of offering 100% refunds.  This is the rare exception when I cannot offer a refund.  The only reason is because once it leaves my neighbor's garage he is not going to take it back and I have nowhere else to put it.  That means, please be sure you want this vehicle before making an offer.  For purchasing a car on eBay this is a safe bet because you should be buying it with the assumption the engine needs to be replaced.  From the photo you can tell the body is in great shape.  Finally, I am giving you a big thumbs up on the frame.
