It is a solid car throughout as you would expect from California. 1966 was a one-year model, when Falcon and Fairlane were redeveloped on the same basic platform, one which did not include the sedan delivery as 1965 marked the final year of sedan delivery production. Instead, the 1966 Ranchero used Falcon front sheet metal, trim and interior accents on a modified station wagon platform. The 1966 model was marketed simply as the Ford Ranchero, and did not carry Falcon badges. Seat belts were standard. This particular Ranchero has had some touch-ups to the exterior. The Cream exterior was recently painted with Sherman Williams two-stage paint system which has wonderful shine and luster. A new rear window was installed along with new weather stripping around that window. New door weather stripping was also added on both sides. The bed lining appears new or at the very least restored. Inside, the carpet appears to have been restored and so has the black vinyl bucket seat. There are no cracks in the dashboard, and a set of aftermarket Suntune gauges measure temperature, oil pressure and amperage. Under the hood, the engine is a C-code 289 Windsor V8 engine capable of producing 270 HP. A few replacements were made to the mechanics. Sorting out included adjusting timing, point dwell and carburetor. The front U-joint and rear transmission seal were also replaced. This is a durable Ford Ranchero that would make an excellent addition to your collection. VIN is 6K27C17324, and mileage currently reads 12,834 on a clear California title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!
