English motor company MG introduced the MGB in 1962 to replace their MGA. The MGB's performance was considered smooth at the time of its introduction, with a 0 to 60 mph time of barely more than 11 seconds. This car handles well as control was one of the MGB's keys. The engine was upgraded in October 1964 to a five-bearing crankshaft in an effort to improve reliability. The majority of MGBs were exported to the United States. In 1974, as U.S. air pollution emission standards became more rigorous, U.S.-market MGBs were de-tuned for compliance. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph impact with an immovable, 200-ton barrier. In 1972, MGB introduced the Mark III Roadster. The biggest changes to the MGB were the upgraded interior and dash. MotoeXotica has yet another collectable and desirable MGB Roadster with steel bumpers in our showroom. This car was well taken care of and had a nice restoration. Driving this will feel like driving this beauty in the English countryside in the early ‘70s. The exterior is a covetable British Racing Green (code GN25) in great condition with no major or noticeable scratches or nicks. The chrome bumpers and bright work show no pitting and have great shine and luster. The trunk is correct and tidy with an optional chrome luggage rack on top of the trunk. The Biscuit soft top is in excellent condition and presents no signs of fraying or loose stitches. The interior was refinished in the correct Biscuit color. The original dash shows no cracks or imperfections. Smiths gauges measure fuel, RPM, MPH, oil and temperature. MG floor mats adorn the floorboards of this British roadster. The car is fitted with after-market Eclipse speakers and an Alpine CDA-9847 stereo. The engine is a B-series 1.8 L mated to a manual transmission.
