    Description

    WELCOME

INSTEAD OF THE LAME ASS BLAHH BLAHHH BLAHHH CAR DEALER CRAP I MYSELF HAVE FALLEN VICTIM TOO, I TELL A THE STORY ON HOW I GOT MY CARS AND THE "Oh Sweet Jesus" STORY BEHIND THIS ONE.

Buying is way more fun then selling ask anyone.....not him.

Sooooooo, I wait 6 months to finally contact this owner on this 63 Galaxie, who by the way had started his asking price at 11k or so back at the beggining of the summer.  After many many price changes and yo yo'ing, I decided to go see what all the buzz was about and set up an appointment. I get there and noticed another car that I had seen on the Ol'Craigs list and was about inquire when I noticed somebody had put a sunroof in her.....Murder.

Moving on to the garage was this clean looking

Super Man Maroon 1963 Galaxie 500 4Door Post Sedanette Sedan

with what is described to me as having a 13k restoration over a 1 year period 3-4 years ago.  I am not one to hold back so obviously my first question was "Why, Why you spend that kind of money on this 4 door post? Posts are for holding Stop Signs....right?" Well, he tells me a friend knew about classics and said if he restored her he could get 20 at auction or on the internetweb. There are so may of those guys around something must be done. I wanted to hug him and tell him it's okay I once sent 18.5k to A "ROBERT YOUSEF" of Canada 3 years ago (google him.. terrible terrible times for me and about half of Sweden) and never got the freshly restored triple black 1960 Convertible Cadillac De Ville with factory AC I thought I bought. Learning is so much fun!!

Now before you go and say anything about the interior let me start by saying something about the interior first. No, it was not free so obviously mistake number one has been defined. Number two, I hate 1979 Cadillac Velveteen Rabbit Red as the next guy but it looks new so give this some thought. It goes with the paint, seat covers are pretty cheap in the Ford world and velvet on the door ain't all that bad. The headliner is original however and could use some red velvet to bring this thing full circle but it is in good shape. The gauges, lights wipers, heat and radio work so safety and some inspired enjoyment can be had.

So then he tells me not may folks have come out and sadly, the ones that have, have offered 3500-5000. I subtly point out with my arms and ten fingers that the sides of the car needs to be repainted due to paint transfer onto the garage entries and the "shovel handle dent" on the top of the door. These warrant major discounts and not to mention the Velvet Underground somebody charged you for. He tells me the motor and trans have are 2500 miles from fresh and he spent 6k on the drive train and front end. He tells me he drops 4000 on paint and chrome and 3000 on interior. I believe the guy because someone talked him into a "sunroofing his 72 Lincoln" and that person don't lie. I immediately look to the sky and know I have the sad task of telling this nice man he got taken to the cleaners in a small town in China by way of First Class on a Concord and a suite on the Queen Mary. I would have done the same job for 7k as would most people but on a 2 door or convertible.

The money spent on this car was on a dream and a prayer. Kinda like the time I proposed to my wife at Barrett Jackson in 2010 Vegas on National TV on a Thursday night . Of course I had the " Featured car of the DAY" which translated to "Moron Coming" and proceeded to lose 30k on a no reserve Auction with a 1957 Chevy Black Widow recreation. I learned nobody is in Vegas on Thursday or drunk enough at 5:30. When you pay 90k for a car it's best not spend 90k for a car, take it somewhere to be sold and with no way to stop it......PHD anyone?

This is a lot of car for the price. She looks new from 20 and is years from anything mechanical. The motor purrs and is the best driver in my shop right now.

    Power steering

    Power Brakes

    Fresh Drivetrain (352)

    Good Tires

    Excellent Chrome

    A solid #3 Choice.
