This particular SUV has gone through an extensive restoration by the guys at Cruise Solutions in Hampstead, N.H., and it looks absolutely incredible! With one quick glance, you’ll see that not a single penny was spared in the restoration of this timeless SUV! The Toyota Land Cruiser is a series of four-wheel drive vehicles produced by the Japanese car maker Toyota. The Land Cruiser series is the longest running series in Toyota history. Development of the first generation Land Cruiser began in 1951 as Toyota’s version of a Jeep-like vehicle and production started in 1954. The Land Cruiser has been produced in convertible, hardtop, station wagon, and utility truck versions. The Land Cruiser’s reliability and longevity has led to huge popularity, especially in Australia where it is the best-selling body-on-frame, four-wheel drive vehicle. Toyota also extensively tests the Land Cruiser in the Australian outback — considered to be one of the toughest operating environments in both temperature and terrain. Main rivals include the Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery, Jeep Wrangler, Mitsubishi Pajero and the Nissan Patrol. Finished in the original shade of Dune Beige, the paint is in excellent shape. We are hard pressed to find imperfections! The body is extraordinarily solid and straight with the exception of one minor ding in the driver’s side rear panel just below the window. Let it be noted that the door panels and rear sill are exceptionally solid and in excellent condition. The rear has the much desired ambulance style doors. During the restoration process, the frame was sandblasted, galvanized and prepared to hold the new weight of the diesel engine. The front of the FJ has an OK Offroad brush guard bumper that houses a functional Warn winch. This off-road warrior even has a rack on the back that is perfect for holding a cooler for hot day expeditions! The restoration didn’t stop on the exterior! Inside, the floors have been sprayed with Line-X to make them extra tough for any adventure you may go on. The seats are wrapped in gray vinyl and show no signs of wear. The seats have easily removable, heavy-duty seat covers protecting the seats from the elements. The rear seats fold down and can be stowed away for more room in the back of the SUV. The dashboard houses a set of custom Autometer gauges that look great! There is also a Grant steering wheel. As mentioned before, the door panels are very solid. In between the seats, there is a Tuffy Box center console that houses a hide-away Kenwood AM/FM CD player. The SUV has also had a subwoofer and speakers added. The air conditioner works and blows ice cold. Under the hood is where things get interesting! The original engine has been swapped out with the desirable cast 3.4L inline four-cylinder 3B Toyota diesel engine. The diesel has been slightly modified and now has an AXT turbocharger as well. Attached to the engine is a H55F five-speed manual transmission with available 4x4. The FJ has power brakes, power steering conversion and factory A/C. Amongst other modifications, the SUV has a GM 145-volt alternator, new Saddle fuel tank and stainless fuel/brake lines. It has four-wheel drum brakes. The FJ sits upon Dakar suspension and a set of 15-inch polished 12 punch wheels wrapped in 33x10.50x15 BF Goodrich tires that look great. There is a full size, matching spare on the back of the FJ. This is an impeccable example of the classic Toyota FJ. This much desired SUV would fit right in with car collection or would be right at home offroading! This is easily an investment grade FJ. The VIN is FJ40288208, and the mileage currently shows 13,783. GET OUT AND DRIVE!
