September 1975, Jaguar introduced a completely new and radically different two door sports coupe'. A step away from the XKE from the 1960's, the XJ-S was introduced as a high performance luxury 4 place Grand Touring Coupe' to compete with the Aston Martin V8 Coupe', the Mercedes-Benz SL and the Porsche 928. Through the 70's and 80's the XJ-S carried Jaguar's prestigious V12 engine at the front, right up to the much anticipated launch of the official in house convertible. The XJS Convertible was an instant success and added a traditional open air motoring pleasure to the XJS lineup. The V-12 was just the right balance of power and agility with ultra rare smoothness only seen on the highest level of automobiles. The XJS continued on to be one of Jaguar’s longest lived and successful models and has become an instant classic.

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this beautiful 1990 Jaguar XJS Convertible finished in Signal Red over Barley Connolly leather interior with a matching Barley covered softop. This XJS left the Browns Lane Coventry factory in January of 1990 and was invoiced to Jaguar North America that same month. The car was then imported into the Jaguar West Coast port and shipped to British Car Distributors on Van Ness in San Francisco where it sold to its first owner. The car is a three owner XJS and has always lived in the San Francisco/San Jose area its entire life until 2011 when the 3^rd owner moved to Orange County. The car has always been serviced and maintained at the Jaguar dealership never skimping on maintenance. The car has a brand new factory correct softop which was installed Winter of last year. This XJS has only traveled 77,285 miles from brand new and looks absolutely beautiful. The Signal Red paint is all original and looks gorgeous, the paint still retains a beautiful shine and finish, free from any fade or peeling. The body of the car is near perfect and completely rust free. There is one small scratch about half of an inch long on the drivers door right under the pinstriping. All of the exterior chrome is still in outstanding condition, and free from any swirls or pitting. There is one small scrape out of the back right chrome taillight surround no bigger than a pinky finger nail and one small scrape out of the back driver side chrome fender molding. All of the rubber and glass still look to be completely original and all outstanding condition free from any scrapes or pitting. The original Connolly leather interior is gorgeous showing very minimal wear. The drivers seat bolster shows very little wear and completely free from any discoloration or rips. The drivers seat just shows very light creasing, but still has very soft and supple leather. The passenger seat looks excellent and only shows very small wear marks. All of the wood is original and still retains a very nice dark color, and almost free from any cracks. The carpets look beautiful and are stain and tear free. The interior trim and switch gear are all intact and free from any damage or wear. The convertible top is a brand new factory top with a new headliner and looks perfect. All of the electronics are working properly, all of the interior and exterior lights work, the convertible top goes up and down and in sync with the rear power windows. Both windows work along with both driver and passenger mirrors. The driver and passenger heated seats appear to be working and along with the cruise control. The AC is blowing ice cold on all of the fan speeds, the heater is working as it should, and the original Jaguar radio is still intact and working alongside the original working power antenna. The XJS still retains its original factory chrome lattice sport wheels, and tires that have about 60% tread life left. Mechanically this XJS is fantastic, it starts right up and runs and drives like a Jaguar V-12 should. It has endless amount of power and is incredibly smooth. It idles beautifully and without any smoke or hesitation. The transmission goes into gear without any problems and shifts very smooth. The brakes are excellent and precise without any fade or grinding. The steering and suspension are nice and tight and free from any drifting, vibrations or noises. If you are looking for an exceptionally well maintained XJS Convertible in beautiful original condition this is it. The car is accompanied by its original owners manuals in its original green leather binder with its original Jaguar cut keys. Also has its original matching spare tire with its original jack. Draped in a fantastic color combination of Signal Red on Barely, you can hardly beat the lines of an iconic Jaguar Convertible. This car comes with a clear and clean title free from any damage.
