If you’re looking for a well-running, original early ‘70s American automobile, then this is your opportunity. This Oldsmobile is from the eighth generation of the popular 98s. They were the roomiest Oldsmobiles ever built and would not be matched again until the ‘90s. This generation marked the first time all 98s were hardtops. Four body styles were offered in the 98 series for 1972. Standard equipment included: deluxe armrests, dual ashtrays, power brakes with front discs, electric clock, carpeting, interior hood release, remote control outside mirror, molding package, interior light package, windshield radio antenna, power seat, power steering, spare tire cover and Turbo-Hydramatic transmission. This charming Oldsmobile you see before you was bought in 1972 in St. Louis and to this day still waits in our showroom for its next owner. This owner will be only the third, however, as the late Albert Boldizar of St. Louis titled this car on May 31, 1972. When Mr. Boldizar passed away, his wife kept this Oldsmobile in the garage and cared for it until her death. A couple from Chesterfield, Mo., bought the car in 2007, where they cared for it until now. There are some minor dings and scratches on the exterior and the vinyl hardtop, but it doesn’t take away from the driving experience at all. The original Nordic Blue exterior paint is still intact as is the black vinyl hardtop. The only noticeable blemish is a very small tear that doesn’t pose a problem as the top will still cover the driver and passengers. The interior is in great condition for being the original Pewter cloth. The gauges and dashboard are original, and the electric windows will roll down if you want to cruise on the open road. If the windows don’t do the trick, the air conditioner is functional for an extra blast of cool. Under the hood, the 455-CID Rocket V8 engine is mated to a three-speed turbo-hydramatic 400 automatic transmission. The powerful engine still runs great and will give a boost to the performance of this original vehicle. The engine bay is tidy and original. Basic maintenance receipts show the care that went into maintaining this classic. VIN is 3V39T2M505325, and with only 43,822 original miles, this car will delight any collector and would even make an interesting daily driver. This car still retains its original characteristics and charm. GET OUT AND DRIVE!
