Up for auction is my 1955 Chevrolet BelAir 2-Dr Post (Black Beauty)… This car is a stunning drop dead knockout. It is a Good Guys show winner and it runs and drives as good as it looks. The car was frame-off restored on a rotisserie and there is not a detail that was left out.

The restoration was completed in 2010 and it has 1,303 miles since that time. It has been NSRA inspected and it is turn key and needs nothing.

The paint & body on this 55 Chevy is awesome. There were over 2000 man hours spent just blocking and sanding. It is absolutely as straight as a gun barrel and the paint looks to be 4 feet deep. The door, hood, and trunk gaps are perfect and the fit and finish is about as good as you will ever see. Since this car is a true BelAir there is a good bit of chrome, trim, and bright work and it has all been buffed out to a like new finish or it was replaced. The glass is all new and factory tinted and the rubber seals and trim are all new as well. The stance is absolutely perfect with the drop spindles, drop springs, and the genuine Boyd Coddington (custom for this car) wheels really look stunning. The tires are Sumitomo Directional radials…fronts are 245/45ZR17’s and the rears are P315/35ZR17’s… Perfect!

The custom Interior is Black “real” leather. It is very tastefully done (and not over done)… The front and rear seats are matching black leather with matching door panels, kick panels, package tray, and a new black headliner with matching sun visors. It has new carpet with Dynomat heat & sound shield underneath and a firewall kick panel as well. All of the wiring under the dash is new with new modern wiring harness and a Classic Instruments 55 gauge cluster. The dash paint is as slick as the outside of the car with new knobs, controls and dash plate. The air condition blows hard and cold and is well tucked under the dash with very tasteful AC vents. The tilt steering column is polished and actually tilts away to the side and it has turn signals and emergency flasher on the column along with a working horn. The steering wheel itself is a matching to the wheels Boyd Coddington custom. The front mats are custom made for the car and it has front seat belts. It has roll up windows with all new internals in the doors and they roll up and down effortlessly and smoothly. It has a Hurst floor shifter for the 6-speed transmission. The trunk is finished off to match the interior…This car needs nothing!

The engine is a professionally built, high performance Chevy 406 (400 bored .010 over). This motor starts up with one bump of the key and it is absolutely tuned and dialed in to perfection. The estimated horsepower is 450. It has an aluminum high rise intake with a Demon 750cc carburetor with electric choke. It also has MSD ignition. It is dressed up and show quality under the hood also with show paint firewall and fender wells, Billet breather and matching valve covers, and a polished AC compressor, polished MSD 1-wire alternator, and polished water pump. The headers are ceramic coated. Everything is neat and all wires and hoses are run neatly and the battery is relocated into the trunk and hidden. Even looking down into the engine bay you can see a high gloss painted frame, A-Arms, and all new bushings and parts.

The transmission is a TKO 6-Speed close-ratio from Keisler Engineering. The transmission shifts smooth and it’s a blast to drive with the close ratio. The rear end is a 9” Ford narrowed with a 3.08 gear. This gear in combination with the 6-speed gives you the best of both worlds with a quick off the line and a real cruising gear in 6^th gear on the interstate with that 3.08 gear. This car cruises down the interstate at 80+ mph like a new car.

Everything underneath is new with attention to all the details. I have lots of pictures underneath posted on this listing as well. It has a metallic grey matching fuel tank and rear end, 2 1/2 ” stainless exhaust with polished chrome Dynomax mufflers and polished 3” exhaust tips. The frame is notched and 1-piece as well. It has front and rear sway bars, rear drop springs, chrome oil pan, front coil overs, and a high torque starter.

I bought this car from a gentleman in North Georgia along with 4 other cars that he had. He was forced to sell due to his health and every one of his cars was the kind that you dream about. This 55 Chevy runs and drives excellent in every way, and it handles, brakes, sounds, and even smells as good as it looks. (if that’s possible)… The previous owner spent $120k building this car and it shows!

You just don’t find cars that have been restored this thoughtfully and professionally every day. This car is a real find and the new owners will be absolutely pleased in every way. It’s a real good car!

I can pick you up at the Augusta, GA airport on almost any day except Sunday in order for you to experience this car for yourself. If you come look at it you will buy it. The pictures do look good but it is 10 times better in person!. Don’t wait or you will miss it and regret it.
