This car is a 2005 Scion xA made by Toyota. In fact, it say Toyota in raised metal letters on the left lower rear hatch lid.

See Add Below:

I am selling my 2005 Toyota Scion xA. The car is in excellent condition, almost like new. It is the Special Edition version which came with 17 inch sport wheels, full featured moon/sun roof, vehicle stability control (VSC), traction control and more. The color, which is called Absolutely Red, was only available on the Special Edition, Series One(1) version of the car.

The Special Edition Series One(1) model was introduced for 2005 only, and only 1500 of them worldwide were produced. There is a plaque on the left lower dash to denote that this car is a Special Edition model; it says this car is number (#) 1079 of 1500. The Special Edition model also has special front bumper fascia. There is information on the Internet which more fully explains the extras of the Special Edition model, but suffice it to say, the standard Scion xA has only 15" wheels, no vehicle stability control (VSC) or traction control. The standard Scion xA also does not have a sun/moon roof.  Please also note, in addition to the Absolutely Red color, the special features on the Special Edition, Series One(1) version of the 2005 Scion xA could not be ordered as extra cost options on a standard Scion xA. They were exclusive to the Special Edition model.

Other features which came standard on the Special Edition Scion xA that could have been ordered as extra cost options on the standard Scion xA were, keyless entry; power door locks; power windows; power mirrors; power steering; power brakes with anti-lock and electronic brake force distribution features. There are still more features included, but they are too numerous to go into here.  Again, the Internet is a good source for research regarding the Scion xA if you are interested.

On the Scion xA I have for Sale here, the air conditioning and heating systems work excellently: lots of cold air from the AC, and warm/hot air from the heater. Inaddition, the center arm rest for the driver is very comfortable too.  Further, this particular xA is a 5-speed manual with extra large sport gas, brake and clutch pedals for even people with big cumbersome feet like me. Moreover, it is ABSOLUTELY easy to drive, and has a great, high seating position. The view is panoramic, and it drivability, which is the true test of how easy a car is to live with, is excellent.

About this Scion xA's condition: Exterior body looks very nice. It has some nicks from road pebbles and debris, but that is about it. It shines like crazy when cleaned and waxed, and has no rust that I can discern. The under carriage looks like new, and is very clean. Additionally, this car does not burn a drop of oil: look as hard as you might, you won't find any leaky seals or gaskets. The engine block, transmission housing, oil pan, ect., are clean with no indications of oil coating or anything like that.

I recently had the car in to the dealer, Bayside, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram, to have a part replaced, a brake sensor, and they tested the car for leaks which is standard procedure when they work on a car;  they found the car free and clear.  I have the invoice for the work they did on the car with the notation that car was tested for leaks with some stuff they use, and that none was found. But I could have told them that anyway because, as I said, the undercarriage of this car is clean....clean....clean! Often when you buy a preowned car, if you look really close underneath, you'll find some oil oozing or leaking. NOT ON THIS CAR. It is clean and leak free!

This car is in excellent condition.  I bought it preowned from a local Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram dealer, so you know this is a good car: new car dealers only keep the cream of the crop of trade-ins they get to sell as preowned models. If the car was not a cream puff, they'd wholesale it off to a used car dealer rather than offering it as a preowned model from their new car dealership. Previously, the car was sold through a Toyota dealership as a certified Toyota preowned auto. This can all be seen in the CAR FAX report of which I have a copy. Also, this car is eligible for CAR FAX'S BUY BACK GUARANTEE until 10/02/2014. All the new owner has to do is go to CARFAX.COM with the CAR FAX report and register with CAR FAX within 90 days of purchasing and registering the car. I have the terms and conditions for the CAR FAX BUY BACK GUARANTEE also available to read for any party interested in purchasing this car.

Let Me Give You A Little History As to How I Came To Own This Car:

I had a 2003 Chevy Impala that my father bought new and transferred to me when he was unable to drive anymore. Even though it was a great car, it was not the kind of car I would have bought for myself. Since my father gave it to me, and since I used it often to drive him around, I had the car when he passed away in 2012 at the age of 95. I was going to keep the car for one or two more years because I could not bring myself to sell it being that it was my father's car. However, my nephew needed a car so I gave it to him. I felt this way I would keep the car in the family. My sister was going to give him her 2005 Altima which she was planing to use as a trade in, but I told her I would give my nephew the Impala instead so she could use her car as a trade-in. She has since bought a new Kia Sportage for $31,000.00.

Anyway, once I gave my nephew the Impala, I bought a brand new 2013 Chevy Spark which I really like because it had a manual transmission.  I then bought this Scion because I saw it at the dealership and like it very much. To get it, I traded my brand new car, the 2013 Spark, and got the Scion and some money back. However, I did lose money in the deal because the Chevy cost me $14,000.00 new, and though I got cash and the Scion, it did not total to the $14,000.00 I outlaid for the Spark.

I liked the Spark, and I liked the Scion too, but when I sold the Impala the car I really wanted to get was the Smart ForTwo. I kept going to eBay over and over again looking at Smarts but they were too expensive I thought, even used. Finally, I saw some girl selling one upstate New York for a price I could live with, a 2009. I talked her down some and bought that car too.

Now, let me tell you, for most people the Scion is a better car in almost every way when compared to a Smart Fortwo, but the Smart Fortwo is really cute, and it is what I wanted in the first place; I have found that I can live with a Smart fortwo quite happily, unlike, I think, most other people would be able to do.  Therefore, I have decided to sell the Scion and keep the Smart Fortwo. One reason being for this is, I don't want to pay for insurance on two cars, and, perhaps as much so, as I may have already intimated, I am not the kind of person who can really own more than one car at a time. It drives me crazy because I believe in car monogamy only!  That is to say, I hate having to make decisions as to which car to drive, so it is easier for me to drive the Smart and put the wear and tear on it, while keeping this near pristine Scion, pristine.  Maybe if I became a millionaire I'd have a stable of cars, but probably not because, like my father always said, paraphrasing here: A car is like a woman, and you should only have one.  I don't know, I feel that way too, and my father was happly married to my mother for more than 50 years until she passed away.

Alright So, lets stop the digressing and get back to my Scion.

Like I was saying, this Scion is in excellent condition. It is a very drivable, and comfortable car to drive. For all intended purposes it is virtually almost like a new car. It is not new, but it is in great shape. The driving position is SUV like: higher than a Toyota Rav4. The standard Scion is almost as tall as a Rav4 with its 15" wheels. This car has 17"  Special Edition Sport Wheels.
