Description

This 1988 Mercedes Benz 420SEL is a clean, low mileage, one owner car that has obviously well cared for. Donated to a local charity by the estate of the previous owner and all proceeds will benefit that charity.

With only 89K miles, this 420SEL still looks and runs good but does have a few minor flaws worth mentioning.

The paint is Mercedes Light Beige Metallic, and still looks great. Always stored indoors, it has a minimum of chips and dings but unfortunately has a verticle discoloration on the left rear door where it appears a chemical of some sort has spilled onto it. We have not tried anything other than soap and water to remove it, so it may clear up with a proper detailing or (worst case) need to be repainted.

Inside, everything looks very nice, with minimal wear to the Parchment leather seats and carpets. The dash looks beautiful with absolutely no cracks or discoloration to the wood veneers or dash top. All controls seem to work well with the exception of the power antenna and the power mirror switch. Even the AC is cold. The sunroof will sometimes bind on its track at the halfway point when closing, but continues with a gentle push.

Mechanically it runs and drives well, but has been sitting idle for some time and would benefit from some fresh gas and some exercise. Strangely the underhood pad has been torn off, but the battery looks virtually new. Tires also appear to be new.

A very nice car with only a few minor issues that are easily addressed.

Out of state buyers will receive a California title in their name within two to three weeks after full payment is received.
