"The Hot One is Even Hotter" was the motto that Chevrolet boasted for its 150, 210 and Bel Air series in 1956. With a new Super Turbo Fire V8, the new 1956 promised a friskier, sweeter ride with safer passing. Playing off the success of the previous year redesign, the new 1956 Chevy was met with an appetite of frenzy from the buying public. Chevy debuted its new pillar-less sport sedan to it's top of the line Bel Air series and the mid-line 210 series. Minor changes were made to the 1956, including new engine options, a slightly different dash, a newly hidden gas filler cap in the rear fin, and colors, trim and fabrics. The '56 Chevy was a hit as sales continued to climb."

 Owned by a Tri-Five Chevy collector and his wife, this Belair was purchased in California in the mid 70s' and is being sold only because of a death in the family. This is one of four cars for sale (their four favorites), that remain in a collection of 18 Tri-Fives. This example is an excellent combination of original, with cosmetic and mechanical restoration as needed.  The top has not been down and it has not been driven in over 30 years, until this week. Mostly original with one repaint in the original color combination of India Ivory/ Nassau Blue. The interior seats and door panels appear to be original with new carpeting, a refurbished dash and new convertible top installed in the late 70s'. All the exterior chrome and trim have either been redone or replaced and are excellent. The undercarriage is exceptionally clean with no issues. The engine is a rebuilt 265 powerpack V-8 mated to a rebuilt 2-speed powerglide automatic transmission. According to the owner this car was featured in the Sears catalog automotive section in the early 80's and the tires on the car were purchased from Sears at that time. What follows are the details.

The lights, signals, gauges, radio, horn and windows are fully operational.  It looks and runs terrific and is now ready for a new owner.

Please remember that this car is 57 years old and not perfect. The paint has a few imperfections not apparent in the photos and could use a good buffing. The blower motor, convertible top and wipers inoperable. The seats  show some minor wear.

Included in the sale will be the electric wiper motor.
