2002 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible
        Last of Line, 12,300 Miles

After a long and highly respected period of producing "The Finest Car In The World" financial pressures caused Rolls-Royce to sell.  As a final gesture, Rolls-Royce produced a Final Fifty-Six Farewell cars, consisting of current production Silver Seraph and Park Ward sedans and the Corniche Convertible.  Of the 56 cars, twenty-two were Corniche and of those only six were designated "Last Of Line". This car is one of the six Last Of Line Corniche Convertibles.  Each of the 56 cars is listed by exterior and interior color, leather color and type of wood in a special brochure created by Rolls-Royce (please see photo below).  

These final cars were fitted with the finest Rolls-Royce was producing at the time with many bespoke options such as special woods, extra wood, hub caps with Flying Lady rather than intertwined RR, red badges front and rear as opposed to black, a flying lady inlaid in wood in each of the cap rails, etc.

Of the six Last Of Line Corniche, only one, this car, was finished in classic black exterior with classic tan leather piped in black and black soft top.  The wood is a rare and very expensive Amboyna wood from the tropics.  It is said to be fifteen times more expensive than the burl walnut.  It is a very tight burl as can be seen from the photos below and is beyond stunning.  The wood is normally used in small batches due to its expense, but the interior of this car is bathed in this precious wood with door and rear compartment inserts as well.

All hub caps have the Flying Lady and a Flying Lady is done as a delicate wood insert to all cap rails.  There is also a special Flying Lady memento that was provided mounted on matching Amboyna wood and with base in matching tan leather.  There are fitted umbrellas to the trunk with special logos.  

As you may know, these special cars are often "picked", meaning umbrellas or certainly a special memento like the Flying Lady on matching wood and leather, are often missing after the original owner.  Not this car.  It is complete, including an unplundered tool kit, white gloves still in plastic container, fitted mineral oil container, books, manual, tools, jack, etc. Extremely complete including the farewell and other collector quality brochures.

As to condition, it is pristine.  The car has been maintained as one in a large car collection and obviously used for special occasions.  Importantly, the car has had only the best detailing by a professional employing the finest resources and all by hand, including regular detailing of the engine compartment.  The car is quite stunning and certainly an important piece of automotive history in exactly the right colors, mileage and condition.  Price is $225,000/offer.
