As seen in the pictures this nice looking 1998 Mercedes SLK230 Hardtop Convertible has sustained light left front end damage. This vehicle was directly purchased from insurance auctions for resale. No middle man involved. This vehicle however was not salvaged by the insurance company and we have the CLEAN TITLE (no-liens) at hand and ready to transfer to the new owner. Damaged areas are clearly shown in the pictures below. The good news is that the car starts, engine runs great, and we were able to drive it within our lot. All airbags ok. All glass good. No damage to the engine or tranny. Looks like the hit was to the left front corner/fender area. Left front wheel is out of alignment and either a tie rod, ball joint or lower control arm is bent. The good news is that it was not a direct front hit hence the front bumper rebar is in tact and not damaged. Front rails are straight with no signs of frame damage. Cooling components (radiator, condensor, fans) are in tact with no observed leaks. The power convertible top did not fully open at the time of testing the top. The rear trunk lid opens upward normally to start the opening process and the hydraulic motor works fine but the top does not disengage from the windshield to to open the top and fold back into the trunk floor. It may be a simple mechanical or adjustment issue which needs to be looked into. The top can be manaually opened as shown in the owners manual which is available and will be included with the car. Right headlight mounting tabs are broken but housing, lense and plugs are good. Other areas of the exterior in decent shape with some scuff marks and light dings which is very normal for this year model vehicle. Interior is as shown in the pics. Red leather seats in good shape with no tears or major stains. A SMALL NOTE ON SALVAGE VEHICLES

We directly purchase from insurance auctions and no middle man involved. Insurance companies usually salvage vehicles due to collision, theft, flood..etc. but this doesn't mean that they are beyond repair. In most cases its not the actual damage to the car that causes a vehicle to be salvaged but the circumstances under which they are declared salvage. For example, theft recovered vehicles are always salvaged since they are usually recovered after the owner is paid off by the insurance company. Whatever the case is these cars can easily be returned to the streets and that is why they're sold through auctions as repairable vehicles.

We have the salvage certificate of title (no-liens) in our possession and it will be re-assigned to the new owner to follow up with their state salvage process. Every state has its own salvage process and its usually filling out some forms and taking the car to an inspection after repairs (if any repairs are needed). Please check with your local motor vehicle center for the exact procedures and rules/regulations.
